Motor Vehicle Crime
June 20, 2023 (Bay Street): The complainant reported that her parked vehicle was entered between 1:00 PM June 15th and 8:00 AM June 16th. The window was reportedly left open. Her wallet containing her driver’s license and $50.00 in cash was stolen. Over the week, similar incidents of entered vehicles during the overnight hours were reported on Greenview Way, Clinton Avenue, Warren Place, Enfield Avenue, and Stonebridge Road.

June 21, 2023 (Elm Street): A 2013 Ford Focus was reported stolen from the area of Elm Street and Elmwood Avenue. The keys were left in the vehicle and it was unlocked.

June 21, 2023 (Glenridge Avenue): The victim reported that she observed an unknown individual enter her 2019 Range Rover. The victim exited her business and began yelling at the suspect who fled on foot east on Glenridge Avenue. The suspect then entered an awaiting Jeep Cherokee and fled east on Glenridge Avenue. The suspect was described as a black male, late teens/early twenties, approximately 5'8”-5'10” tall, slim build, with shoulder length dreadlocks, wearing a white T-shirt and gray jeans.

June 22, 2023 (Overlook Road): The complainant reported that the catalytic converter was stolen off of her 2019 Volkswagen Passat. The theft occurred sometime between June 14th and June 22nd.

June 26, 2023 (Upper Mountain Avenue): The victim reported that he was making Amazon deliveries in his 2017 Audi Q5. He left his vehicle running on the street during one of his deliveries. When he returned, he discovered it driving away. A 2021 Toyota Rav4 had been left in its place. The victim entered the Rav4 and attempted to catch up to his Audi but he quickly lost sight of it. The Toyota Rav4 was determined to have been stolen from West Orange.

June 27, 2023 (Kipps Ridge Street): A 2018 Mercedes Benz was reported stolen during the overnight hours. It was recovered later in the day at Avon Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard in Newark.

Theft
June 20, 2023 (Harrison Avenue): The victim reported that he was maintaining his lawn when the battery died on his weed whacker. When he went to retrieve another battery, the weed whacker and electric lawn mower were gone. The Ryobi devices were valued at $650.00.

June 21, 2023 (Bloomfield Avenue): The manager at CVS Pharmacy reported that four males entered the store. One of the males distracted the store employee while the remaining three stole $1300.00 worth of Olay Facial Cream.

Attempted Burglary
June 23, 2023 (Claremont Avenue): The lone employee of CVS reported that the store was closed and he was in the rear break room when he heard a noise coming from the rear doors. Upon investigating, he observed an individual trying to pry the door open. The individual then fled the area after the employee announced himself. The individual never gained access inside of the warehouse. The suspect was described as approximately 5’'8 in height, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a black book bag. The complainant was unable to see the individuals face or identify whether the individual was a male or female.

Arrest
June 26, 2023 (Valley Road): A 46-year-old female was charged with shoplifting from CVS on Valley Road. She was stopped on Valley Road with 35 items totaling $391.90.
