Last week's arrests and incidents as released by the Secaucus police.

On 07/09/2019 at 4:07 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Home Depot on a report of a shoplifting incident. During the investigation, the police arrested a 31 year old male, Miguel Villafane of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office with no bail, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ in the amount of $1,500.00 with a 10% option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $100.00. Officer’s from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters and took custody of Mr. Villafane for transport to the Hudson County Jail.

On 07/09/2019 at 8:46PM, Secaucus Police responded to the area of Best Buy located at 925 Paterson Plank Road on a report of a suspicious male. During the investigation, the police arrested a 65 year old male, Rocco Marro of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $2,000.00 with a 10% option. The Jersey City Police Department did release Mr. Marro on his own recognizance and he was subsequently released from police custody.

On 07/11/2019 at 01:45 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the area of Route 3 West on a report of a motor vehicle accident. During the investigation, the police arrested a 40 year old male, Santiago Astacio of Rutherford, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Astacio was served with his motor vehicle summons along with 2 additional motor vehicle summonses for Reckless Driving [39:4-96] and Careless Driving [39:4-97] and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On 07/11/2019 at 10:58 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 37 year old male, Jose Matos of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Little Ferry, NJ in the amount of $1,500.00 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union City, NJ in the amount of $250.00. Mr. Matos was additionally charged with Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information. Mr. Matos was served his complaint summons along with 5 motor vehicle summons. Mr. Matos posted bail for the involved warrants and was released from police custody.

On 07/12/2019 at 02:21 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 22 year old female, Viviana Perez of Union City, NJ for Possession of CDS believed to be Marijuana [2C:35-10A(4)] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Ms. Perez was served her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 07/12/2019 at 10:44 AM, Officer’s from the New Jersey State Police responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters to transfer custody of a 23 year old male, Witman Perez of Lawrence, MA for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $200.00. Mr. Perez was unable to post bail for the involved warrant. Secaucus Municipal Court did release Mr. Perez on his own recognizance and he was subsequently released from custody pending a future court date.

On July 13, 2019 at 5:20 AM, Secaucus Police were investigating suspicious activity at the Royal Motel, 650 Route 3 West. During the investigation, police arrested Usman Yousaf, 24, of Bayonne for possessing Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2] and an active warrant from Jersey City with a bail in the amount of $5,000.00; Liegh Osman, 22, of Bayonne for a warrant issued from Jersey City with a bail in the amount of $100.00; Michael Ferro, 24, of Jersey City was arrested for an active warrant issued from Hoboken with a bail of $75.00. Michael Ferro was released on his own recognizance, Liegh Osman was released after posting bail and Usman Yousaf was taken to the Hudson County Jail.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
