On May 4, 2023 at 5:23 A.M., a Sandpiper Key resident calledthe Secaucus Police Department and reported that an individual burglarized her parked vehicle and stole some money from within.
During the investigation it was discovered that the burglar, later identified as Kendjy Philippe, entered two other vehicles and attempted to burglarize a third. Two of the vehicles were parked on Sandpiper Key and the other was parked on Sandcastle Key, all within the Harmon Cove Townhouse complex.
Detectives from the Secaucus Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit developed evidence from the crime scenes and identified Kendjy Philippe, 28, of Jersey City as the person who committed these crimes. On May 16, 2023 Detectives from the Anti-Crime Unit arrested Kendjy Philippe at his residence in Jersey City.
Kendjy Philippe was charged with three counts of Burglary [2C:18-2a(1)], one count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary [2C:5-1/2C:18-2a(1)], Theft [2C:20-3a] and Criminal Attempt to Commit Theft [2C:5-1/2C:20-3(a)]. Philippe was lodged in the Hudson County Jail.
“Secaucus Police Department detectives will work tirelessly to apprehend criminals who victimize our residents, but our residents need to do their part to eliminate the opportunity for criminals to prey upon them,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “I again remind residents to be vigilant, lock their vehicles, and report any suspicious activity to the Secaucus Police Department.”
