Woman Arrested After Secaucus Police Recover Stolen Car

On April 24, 2023 at 7:34 A.M. Secaucus Police Officer Kasey Kelly was patrolling the area of the Red Roof Inn, 15 Meadowland Parkway. While on patrol, he randomly accessed the registration of an unoccupied Kia Forte that was parked, but running in the parking lot. The vehicle was discovered to be stolen from Newark on April 23, 2023.

An on-scene investigation was conducted and the driver of the vehicle, Doniesha Coar, 27 of Glassboro, was located in one of the motel rooms and was placed under arrest. During a search of her jacket she was found in possession of several 9mm handgun bullets.

“Our hotels will not be a safe haven for criminal activity to flourish,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “I commend Police Officer Kelly for his keen eye and his proactivity. Secaucus Police Officers will continue to maintain a presence in all areas of Town in an attempt to rid out criminal activity.”

Doniesha Coar, was charged with Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7] and Possession of Handgun Ammunition [2C:58-3.3b]. She had outstanding warrants issued from Wood Ridge with a bail of $1,000.00, Atlantic County with a bail of $1,000.00, Garfield with a bail of $1,000.00 and Cranford with a bail of $250.00. She was lodged in the Hudson County Jail.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
