Secaucus Police Blotter 02/27/2023 - 03/05/2023

On 02/27/2023 at 1:07 PM, Secaucus Police responded to CVS located at 101 Plaza Centre Road on a report of a shoplifting. While the police were responding to the location, the involved parties fled from the scene in a motor vehicle. Shortly after, the involved vehicle was found to have gotten into a motor vehicle accident in North Bergen, NJ and the occupants were taken into custody. The police arrested a 31 year old male, Omar Ricketts of the Bronx, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Eluding [2C:29-2B], Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7A] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. The police also arrested a 23 year old female, Shania Brown of the Bronx, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(1)]. Ms. Brown was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. Mr. Ricketts was issued his complaint warrant along with 6 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 02/28/2023 at 7:34 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 25-year-old female, Imani Brummel of Irvington, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Woodbridge, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00. Ms. Brummel was unable to post bail for the involved warrant and was issued 4 motor vehicle summonses. Officers from the Woodbridge Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters to take custody of Ms. Brummel for transport to their agency.

On 02/28/2023 at 6:35 PM, the police investigated a Robbery incident that occurred a short time earlier at Schmidt’s Woods located at 18 Millridge Road. The juvenile male had entered Police Headquarters to report the incident. During the investigation, the police arrested a 16-year-old male of Secaucus, NJ for Robbery [2C:15-1A(1)], Conspiracy to commit Robbery [2C:5-2A(1)] and Aggravated Assault [2C:12-1B(1)]. The involved male was issued his juvenile complaint warrant and Officers from the Hudson County Correctional Center responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters for transport to the Essex County Detention Facility.

On 03/01/2023 at 11:31 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 42-year-old male, Mohammed Mosilhy of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Lodi, NJ with no bail. Mr. Mosilhy was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and officers from the Lodi Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters for transport to their agency.

On 03/01/2023 at 12:46 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 55-year-old male, David Thomas of Conyers, GA for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $500.00. The Jersey City Police Department did release Mr. Thomas on his own recognizance pending a future court date and he was released from police custody.

On 03/01/2023 at 3:20 PM, in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Anti-Crime Unit in relation to a Robbery incident that occurred on 02/28/2023 on Roosevelt Avenue, the police responded to Jersey City, NJ and arrested a 23-year-old male, Mickey Mendez of Jersey City, NJ for Robbery [2C:15-1A(2)], Unlawful Possession of a Handgun [2C:39-5B(1)], Possession of a Handgun for Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4A(1)], Conspiracy to commit Robbery [2C:5-2A(1)] and Aggravated Assault [2C:12-1B(4)]. The police also took into custody a 33-year-old female, Dashiea Curry of Jersey City, NJ for Robbery [2C:15-1A(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Robbery [2C:5-2A(1)] along with a 25-year-old female, Irene Mendez of Jersey City, NJ for Robbery [2C:15-1A(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Robbery [2C:5-2A(1)]. Mr. Mendez along with a Ms. Curry and Ms. Mendez were issued their complaint warrants and were subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 03/02/2023 at 8:14 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the parking lot at 101 Plaza Centre Rd on a report of a suspicious male. During the investigation, the police arrested a 34-year-old male, Anthony Hines of Passaic, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Clifton, NJ in the amount of $1,500.00. The Clifton Police Department did release Mr. Hines on his own recognizance pending a future court date and he was released from police custody.

On 03/02/2023 at 3:55 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 44-year-old male, Ricardo Matienzo of North Bergen, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)]. Mr. Matienzo was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 03/02/2023 at 2:54 PM, in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in regards to an Eluding incident that occurred on 02/27/2023, the police responded to the Millburn Police Department and took into custody a 36-year-old male, Brandon McKinney of Newark, NJ for Eluding [2C:29-2B]. Mr. McKinney was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $100.00. Mr. McKinney was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 03/03/2023 at 7:54 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 28 year old male, Jhonathan Rodriguez of Union City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union City, NJ with no bail. The police subsequently transported Mr. Rodriguez to the Union City Police Department.

On 03/03/2023 at 8:28 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 28-year-old male, German Genao of New York, NY for Possession of CDS believed to be Oxycodone [2C:35-10A(1)], Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5D], specifically an expandable baton and Certain Persons not to possess Weapons [2C:39-7A]. Mr. Genao was issued his complaint warrant along with 3 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 03/04/2023 at 2:08 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the area of Front Street and First Street on a report of a motor vehicle on the wrong side of the road. During the investigation, the police arrested a 31-year-old male, Nicholas Bustamante of Montauk, NY for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Bustamante was issued his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional 4 motor vehicle summonses and he was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On 03/05/2023 at 7:06 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 41-year-old male, Terrance Smith of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ with no bail. The police subsequently transported Mr. Smith to the Jersey City Police Department.
