On 01/09/2023 at 2:55 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the Pequannock Police Department to take into custody a 34-year-old male, Marquise Johnson of Paterson, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Johnson was unable to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 01/09/2023 at 10:06 AM, Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 57-year-old male, Sergio Zequeira of Little Ferry, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Passaic, NJ in the amount of $750.00 along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Washington Township, NJ in the amount of $500.00 with a 10% option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Guttenberg, NJ in the amount of $120.00. Mr. Zequeira was able to post bail for the warrant issued out of Passaic, NJ. The Washington Township Police Department and the Guttenberg Police Department did release Mr. Zequeira on his own recognizance pending future court dates and he was released from police custody.

On 01/10/2023 at 5:07 AM, in reference to an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Anti-Crime Unit in regards to 4 separate burglaries committed at the Verizon store located at 200 Millcreek on 08/29/2022, 09/24/2022, 12/08/2022 and 01/05/2023, the police responded to New York and assisted the FBI, NYPD, Yorktown PD and the Croton-on-Hudson PD in taking into custody a 21-year-old male, Jancarlos Castillo of New York, NY. For the incident that occurred on 08/29/2022, Mr. Castillo was charged with Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Theft [2C:20-3A] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)]. For the incident that occurred on 09/24/2022, Mr. Castillo was charged with Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Theft [2C:20-3A] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)]. For the incident that occurred on 12/08/2022, Mr. Castillo was charged with Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Theft [2C:20-3A] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)] and for the incident that occurred on 01/05/2023, Mr. Castillo was charged with Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Theft [2C:20-3A] and Conspiracy [2c:5-2A(1)]. On the same date at 9:22 AM, the police also arrested a 24-year-old male, Angel Martinez of the Bronx, NY. Mr. Martinez was charged with Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Theft [2C:20-3A], Possession of a Burglar Tool [2C:5-5A(2)], Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)], Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7A] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)] for the incident that occurred on 08/29/2022. Mr. Martinez was charged with Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], Theft [2C:20-3A], Possession of Burglar Tools [2C:5-5A(2)], Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)] for the incident that occurred on 09/24/2022. Both Mr. Castillo and Mr. Martinez were transported to NYPD Central Booking by the FBI and are being held pending extradition to New Jersey.

On 01/10/2023 at 5:00 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Essex County Jail to take into custody a 34-year-old female, Jasmine Kennon of West Orange, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $2,500.00. Ms. Kennon was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00 with a 10% option. Ms. Kennon was unable to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 01/12/2023 at 12:26 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on a report of an employee theft. During the investigation, the police arrested a 20-year-old male, Glaser Arias of Union City, NJ for Theft [2C:20-3A]. Mr. Arias was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 01/12/2023 at 5:16 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 31-year-old male, Alex Exavier of Orange, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of East Orange, NJ in the amount of $750.00 with a 10% option. Mr. Exavier was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.

On 01/011/2023 at 2:41 PM, Secaucus Police observed a motor vehicle operating in the area of 1262 Paterson Plank Road in which the police had previous knowledge of the motor vehicle being stolen out of Morris Township, NJ. The police attempted a motor vehicle stop with the involved vehicle in the area of 233 Maple Street. During the attempted MV stop, the vehicle fled, striking several vehicles in the process. A vehicle pursuit was initiated and the pursuit was subsequently terminated on Route 3 West. On 01/12/2023, the Secaucus Police charged a 20-year-old male, Tysean Ware of Newark, NJ with Eluding [2C:29-2B] and Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7A] after Mr. Ware was taken into custody in Newark, NJ by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. Mr. Ware was subsequently lodged in the Morris County Jail due to charges of Burglary that was issued by the Morris Township Police Department.

On 01/13/2023 at 12:40 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the Main Roadway of the Route 3 East Highway, on a report of a motor vehicle accident. During the investigation, the police arrested a 34-year-old female, Yaciris Gonzalez of Jersey City, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Gonzalez was issued her motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with 1 additional motor vehicle summons and was subsequently released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On 01/13/2023 at 12:41 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the intersection of County Avenue and County Road on a report of a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, the police arrested a 53-year-old male, Elvin Fermin of Belleville, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Fermin was issued his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with 1 additional motor vehicle summons and he was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On 01/14/2023 at 3:05 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 40-year-old male, Joseph Tutt of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union, NJ in the amount of $1,500.00. The Union Police Department did release Mr. Tutt on his own recognizance pending a future court date. Mr. Tutt was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and he was released from police custody.

On 01/15/2023 at 6:24 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the intersection of Paterson Plank Road and County Avenue on a report of an individual unconscious in a motor vehicle. During the investigation, the police arrested a 45-year-old female, Sabrina Purewal of Secaucus, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Purewal was issued her motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with 1 additional motor vehicle summons and she was subsequently released into the custody of a responsible adult.
