Secaucus Police Blotter 05/30/2022 - 06/05/2022

On 06/02/2022 at 11:54 PM, Secaucus Police observed a disabled motor vehicle in the area of Harmon Meadow Boulevard and 700 Plaza Drive. The vehicle was found to have run out of gas. During the investigation, the police arrested a 33-year-old male, Gregory Johnson of the Bronx, NY for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Garfield, NJ with no bail. Mr. Johnson was further charged with Violation of Regulatory Provisions related to Firearms [2C:39-10A(1)], Possession of CDS believed to be Methamphetamine [2C:35-10A(1)] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Mr. Johnson was issued his complaint warrant along with 6 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 06/02/2022 at 6:19 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 26-year-old male, Huntley Bradford of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued by the Irvington Police Department with no bail and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of East Orange, NJ in the amount of $750.00. Mr. Bradford was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5D] for having in his possession a knife. The police also arrested a 38-year-old male, Shaun Ellis of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued by the Essex County Sheriff’s Office with no bail along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $600.00 with a 10% option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of East Orange, NJ in the amount of $350.00. Mr. Ellis was also charged with Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. Mr. Ellis was issued his complaint summons along with 1 motor vehicle summons and was subsequently transported to the Essex County Jail. Mr. Bradford was issued his complaint summons along with 4 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Essex County Jail.

On 06/02/2022 at 8:09 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the Burlington Coat Factory located at 31 Mill Creek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 55-year-old male, Brian Bishop of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Elizabeth, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Bishop was also charged with Possessing an Antishoplifting Device [2C:20-11F]. The police also arrested a 57-year-old male, Carlone Bridges of Luzerne, PA for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Berlin, NJ in the amount of $5,000.00. Mr. Bridges was also charged with Possession of CDS believed to be Heroin [2C:35-10A(1)]. Both the Elizabeth Police Department along with the Berlin Police Department did release Mr. Bishop and Mr. Bridges on their own recognizance in relation to their outstanding warrants. Mr. Bishop and Mr. Bridges were issued their complaint summonses and were released from police custody.

On 06/03/2022 at 1:00 PM, Secaucus Police arrested a 56-year-old female, Olga Ortegapena of Union City, NJ, after a follow-up investigation of a lost cell phone on May 27th in the Sam’s Club parking lot (400 Park Plaza Dr.) revealed that she unlawfully removed the lost phone. Ms. Ortegapena was charged with Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property (2C:20-6), and was released on a Summons.

On 06/03/2022 at 5:41 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the TD Bank located at 1262 Paterson Plank Rd on a report of a man attempting to withdraw money from a bank account using fraudulent identification. The man, identified as 60-year-old Sanjiv Chhabra of the Bronx, NY, was arrested and charged with Theft of Identity—2C:21-17a(1), Knowingly Exhibiting a False Government ID—2C:21-2.1C, and Credit Card Theft/Fraudulent Use of Credit Card—2C:21-6H. Mr. Chhabra was released on a Summons.

On 06/04/2022 at 12:14 AM, during a motor vehicle stop for Obstructing the Flow of Traffic at the intersection of County Ave. and Seaview Dr., Secaucus Police arrested a 24-year-old female, Jamirah Lewis of Plainfield, NJ, for Driving While Intoxicated. Ms. Lewis was served her summonses and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

On 06/05/2022 at 02:13 AM, Secaucus Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on the main body of Route 3 West. While investigating the crash, one of the drivers, identified as 42-year-old male Irving Rivera of Cliffside Park, NJ, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Mr. Rivera was served his summonses and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

On 06/05/2022 at 10:32 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the Green Farmer’s Market located at 101 Plaza Centre Rd. on a report of a dispute. Upon the arrival of officers, it was determined that a female, later identified as 27-year-old Tanajza Palin of Secaucus, NJ, used force in the commission of a theft after her method of payment was declined by the cashier. Ms. Palin had fled the scene prior to police arrival, and so a warrant was issued for her arrest charging Ms. Palin with Robbery (2C:15-1a(1)). The warrant was successfully executed by the Linden Police Department, and Ms. Palin was subsequently transported to the Hudson County jail.
