On February 7, 2022, Seti Barnwell, 22, and Emmanuel Philostin, 20, both of Brooklyn, NY were arrested by members of the Secaucus Police Detective Division on charges stemming from a motor vehicle stop on Meadowlands Parkway.

Police Officer Jonathan Padron was on patrol and observed a Dodge Charger on Meadowlands Parkway with heavily tinted windows. Upon stopping the vehicle, it became known that the vehicle was alleged to have been involved in several gun point robberies in Nassau County, NY. The vehicle was subsequently impounded for further investigation.

The investigation led to a search of the vehicle where detectives recovered a loaded Taurus G2C, 9mm semi-automatic handgun along with two (2) .40 caliber fifteen (15) round magazines.

“This gun arrest is another example of how members of the Secaucus Police Department will continue to proactively police the Town,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “The sheer amount of loaded guns possessed by the criminal element is quite disturbing, but I can only hope our criminal justice system will apply the law and administer a penalty that would deter criminals from possessing illegal firearms.”

Both were charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm [2C:39-5b(1)], two (2) counts of Possession of a High Capacity Magazine [2C:39-3j], Unlawful Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition [2C:39-3f(1)] and Unlawful Possession of Handgun Ammunition [2C:58-3.3]. They were lodged in the Hudson County Jail. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
