For the third straight week, there has been an unusually high number of newly reported COVID-19 cases in Secaucus, with this past week's numbers being the worst yet. The total number of coronavirus cases increased dramatically this week. It went up from 691 cases last week to 715 cases this week. That's a big jump of 24 new cases. There hasn't been such a large weekly increase since May when New Jersey's overall infection rate was still high.
At this point, there is no denying that there is an upward trend in Secaucus' coronavirus infection rate over the past few weeks. This can be easily seen in the graph above as the shape of the curve is no longer flat. And like last week, a case of COVID-19 was reported in one of Secaucus' public schools. This time, it was the Secaucus High School/Middle School. (The two schools share the same building.) As usual, the school district took immediate action by temporarily closing the school for a thorough cleaning. However, it is obvious that the number of new cases is on an upswing in Secaucus.
