Although the number of new cases this week is still relatively low, it did increase by its largest margin in weeks. It increased from 649 cases last week to 655 cases this week. That's an increase of 0.9%. This is a very low percentage when compared to other parts of the country, but it does show that cases can still climb despite the encouraging statistics from the past few weeks. Plus, there were three new deaths reported this week. All of this is especially pertinent right now as this is the week that Secaucus parents have to inform schools regarding whether their kids will be attending in-person classes in September. Even though the school district has taken numerous measures to keep everyone safe, it is undeniable that in-person classes can lead to further spread of the virus. So the choice may have just become more difficult for many parents.
