Secaucus Police Blotter 08/03/2020 - 08/09/2020

On 08/03/2020 at 3:28 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the Red Roof Inn located at 15 Meadowlands Parkway on a report of children being left unattended. During the investigation, the police arrested a 28 year old male, Deandre Morgan of Newark, NJ along with a 29 year old female, Nahjarah Rutledge of Newark, NJ for 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child [2C:24-4A(2)]. Ms. Rutledge was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $200.00. Mr. Morgan was served his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. Ms. Rutledge was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 08/04/2020 at 11:41 PM, the Secaucus Police observed suspicious activity occurring at the Red Roof Inn located at 15 Meadowlands Parkway. During the investigation, the police arrested a 32 year old female, Scarlet Conti of West Orange, NJ for Possession of CDS believed to be Alprazolam [2C:35-10A(1)], Possession of CDS believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine [2C:35-10A(1)] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Ms. Conti was served her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 08/06/2020 at 4:46 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 40 year old male, Enrique Berger of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $99.00. Mr. Berger was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On 08/07/2020 at 5:17 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 40 year old male, Kismath Sooknanan of Mount Vernon, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)]. Mr. Sooknanan was served his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 08/07/2020 at 9:06 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 30 year old female, Alexis Tyson of Newark, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Possession of CDS believed to be Marijuana [2C:35-10A(4)] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)]. The police also arrested a 30 year old female, Sharday Harris of Newark, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)]. Both Mr. Tyson and Mr. Harris were served their complaint summonses and were released from police custody.

On 08/08/2020 at 3:01 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 30 year old male, Mazen Abulaban of North Bergen, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50], Possession of a Hypodermic Needle [2C:36-6A] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Mr. Abulaban was served his complaint summonses along with his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated and 4 additional motor vehicle summonses and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On 08/09/2020 at 2:35 PM, Secaucus Police responded to the NJ State Police Barracks in Totowa, NJ to take into custody a 29 year old male, Jean Peralta-Nova of the Bronx, NY for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $500.00. Mr. Peralta-Nova was unable to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
