As a part of the federal CARES Act, the County of Hudson received a sum of money to be used towards COVID relief. A portion of those funds have been earmarked to each municipality within the county to assist our small businesses who have suffered financial hardship. I have worked closely with Thomas DeGise, Hudson County Executive, on this program and I am pleased to report applications for grant funds by small businesses will be accepted beginning August 3 through August 14, 2020. I am enclosing a flyer, which provides some of the details concerning the program. You can access the application by visiting
https://cares-act-hudsoncogis.hub.arcgis.com/.
Please note the application process will not open until Monday, August 3rd. You will not be able to access the application before that date.
Once your application is submitted it will be reviewed and processed by an independent financial firm. I have been advised that once an application is approved the county will be notified, following which, checks will be issued to any qualified business. As you can see from the attached flyer, the maximum amount of any grant will be $20,000.00. There is a limited amount of funds available for the program, therefore, if you are interested, I would suggest you submit your application on or as soon after August 3rd as possible. Again, the application period runs from August 3rd through August 14th, 2020. No applications will be accepted after August 14, 2020.
I am so pleased that the county worked along with myself, the council and our administrative staff to ensure some of the COVID relief funds would be available to small businesses. I fully understand that our small businesses are the lifeblood of our community and your continued success is vitally important to Secaucus. I sincerely hope these grant funds will assist you in your time of need.
