7/9 Update on Secaucus' Coronavirus Statistics

Posted Fri, Jul 10, 2020, By Staff Writer
Like the previous week, there were only two new coronavirus cases reported in Secaucus this week. Sadly, though, there were also three cases of coronavirus related deaths reported. There have been no reported deaths since June 11th, so there was hope that there wouldn't be any additional fatalities at this point. Unfortunately, such hopes were obviously premature. See the details below. (Click on any of the data points to see specific details.)

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Secaucus is now at 637. That's a minute increase of 0.3% compared to last week's 635 cases. This is the seventh consecutive week where the curve has remained relatively flat in Secaucus, so we are in a good place. Hopefully, the number of cases in this part of the country will not go back up given that coronavirus is still running rampant in other parts of the U.S. To that effect, Governor Phil Murphy recently slowed down reopening plans when there were signs that the infection rate in the state may be creeping back up. There are of course those who disagree with his decision, but it is comforting to know that government officials are monitoring the situation closely.
