Property Taxes Due

Posted Wed, May 6, 2020, By Staff Writer
Given the current turmoil that the Coronavirus has caused and the fact that the Secaucus Municipal Building is essentially closed, it is unclear for many local residents how real estate tax payments are affected. To that end, the following message was recently posted on the town's website:
The grace period for payment of second quarter property taxes is May 11, 2020. THE DUE DATE HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED TO JUNE 1, 2020. If taxes are not paid by May 11, 2020, interest and penalties will apply.

With the municipal building closed, however, residents who usually bring their payments directly to the Tax Collector's office no longer have that option. So for those who are affected, there are the following alternatives:
  • Payments can be made online at https://portal.icheckgateway.com/TownOfSecaucus/Index.aspx
  • Payments can be mailed to
    Tax Collector
    Municipal Government Center
    1203 Paterson Plank Rd.
    Secaucus, NJ 07094
Once the payment has been processed, a receipt will be mailed back.
  • Place your payment in a sealed envelope addressed to "Tax Collector", and drop it off at the police window in the municipal building between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM Monday through Friday. Payments will be processed daily. Once processed, a receipt will be mailed back.
