Burglar Arrested For Burglarizing Same Warehouse For A Fourth Time

The Secaucus Police Department recently issued the following press release regarding this incident.

On October 20, 2018, the Secaucus Police Department responded on a report of a burglary at GOAT, located at 1 County Road, Secaucus, NJ, which is a warehouse that stores high end sneakers. As a result of this burglary sixteen pairs of sneakers, with an aggregate value of over $6,000.00 were stolen.

On November 19, 2018, the Secaucus Police Department responded on a report of another burglary at GOAT. As a result of this burglary thirty-one 31 pairs of sneakers, with an aggregate value of over $23,000.00 were stolen.

On January 13, 2019, the Secaucus Police Department responded on a report of another burglary at GOAT. As a result of this burglary, numerous pairs of sneakers, with an aggregate value of over $23,000.00 were stolen.

On March 10, 2019, at approximately 1:14 P.M., the Secaucus Police Department responded on a report of another burglary at GOAT. Upon their arrival, forced entry was found to one of the loading dock doors and it was discovered that wires for the security system and CCTV were cut. A perimeter was established around the business and a thorough search of the interior of the warehouse was undertaken by additional police personnel. While searching the warehouse, Daqwaun Ralls, 26, of Bronx, NY was cornered in a stairwell holding a large knife in his hand. He was subsequently placed under arrest and also found in possession of burglar tools, specifically “tin snips” and a metal bar. Numerous pairs of sneakers that were intended to be taken were recovered within the warehouse.

Simultanouesly, while investigating this burglary, Special Agent Matthew Weithenauer of the Norfolk Southern Police located Ralls’ vehicle running on County Avenue. This vehicle was captured on video surveillance during some of the aforementioned burglaries. Additionally, evidence gathered from the previous burglaries and evidence gathered as a result of Daqwaun Ralls’ arrest on March 10, 2019 confirmed that he had burglarized GOAT on these four occasions.

Daqwaun Ralls was charged with Armed Burglary [2C:18-2a(1)], three counts of Burglary [2C:18-2a(1)], four counts of Theft of Moveable Property [2C:20-3a], four counts of Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3a(1)], four counts of Possession of Burglar’s Tools [2C:5-5a(1)], Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4d], and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5d]. He was lodged at the Hudson County Jail.
