Last week's arrests and incidents as released by the Secaucus police.
On 04/06/2020 at 12:22 PM, Secaucus Police responded to CVS located at 101 Plaza Centre Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 50 year old male, Michael Barton of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Mr. Barton was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union City, NJ in the amount of $2,500.00, 2 outstanding warrants issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $1,500.00 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $50.00. Both the Union City Police Department and the Newark Police Department did release Mr. Barton on his own recognizance. Mr. Barton was unable to post bail for the outstanding warrants issued out of Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Barton was issued his complaint summons and officers from the Jersey City Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters to take custody of Mr. Barton for transport to their authority.
These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
