Arrests Made, Handgun and Drugs Seized at Red Roof Inn

At approximately 4:29 pm on March 2, 2020, the Secaucus Police responded to the Red Roof Inn, 15 Meadowland Parkway, on a report fight in progress whereby one of the men involved brandished a handgun. Upon police arrival they detained Pedro Sarkis-Farah Laporte and female who were occupying one of the hotel rooms.

In plain view within the room the police observed a quantity of suspected cocaine and a semi-automatic handgun. Along with the handgun was a “high capacity” magazine loaded with “hollow point” bullets. Pedro Sarkis-Farah Laporte and a female were subsequently arrested.

A female, 25 of Union City was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)]. She was also found to have an active warrant from Union City. Pedro Sarkis-Farah Laporte, 23 of Guttenberg was charged with Unlawful Possession of Weapon [2C:39-5b], Unlawful Possession of Handgun Ammunition [2C:58-3.3b], Possession of Hollow Point Bullets [2C:39-3f] and Possession of a “High Capacity” Magazine [2C:39-3j]. Pedro Sarkis-Farah Laporte was also found to have active warrants from Bergen County, West NewYork and North Bergen. They were both taken to the Hudson County Jail pending their appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
