3/1/2025 12:07 AM, (Dispersal - Juveniles)
A Patrol Sergeant located juveniles playing basketball at Midland School after
midnight. Due to noise ordinance and school regulations, the juveniles were
dispersed from the area.
3/1/2025 11:19 AM, (Aided)
A 79-year-old female resident requesting assistance standing in a Rochelle
Avenue deli. The resident was located on the ground inside the establishment,
and was manually assisted onto a bar stool. No further assistance required.
3/1/2025 8:49 PM (Violation Local Ordinance)
A Patrol Sergeant observed a male party urinating behind a Rochelle Avenue
liquor store. Upon approach the male ran from the officers. A vehicle connected
to the fleeing party was stopped. Officers searched the area but were unable to
locate the suspect. Several summonses were issued to the driver of the vehicle, a
42-year-old male from Passaic.
3/2/2025 5:43 AM, (Breach of Peace)
A male party called from a Rochelle Avenue bagel shop to report a dispute with
his wife. Responding officers learned the dispute occurred hours earlier on
Central Avenue. Contact with the wife was made and it was found to be a verbal
dispute about infidelity. Each party went in separate directions for the day. No
orders requested.
3/2/2025 11:01 AM, (Breach of Peace)
A caller from Central Avenue reported she does not want her intoxicated husband
inside the home. The 50-year-old male resident voluntarily agreed to leave the
residence. Protection orders were not sought.
3/2/2025 6:07 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A 47-year-old female caller from Central Avenue reported her husband was
“nagging” her and no longer wanted him in the home. Police refereed a verbal
dispute and the husband once again left the residence. No crimes were reported
and protection orders were once again refused.
3/3/2025 11:33 AM, (Criminal Mischief)
The DPW Superintendent reported damage to a slide at Carlock Field. A patrol
officer responded and found a burned slide on the playground. Surveillance
cameras were reviewed, however, the damage occurred prior to the retention
period. Photographs and a report were completed.
3/3/2025 1:24 PM, (Commitment)
A 911 caller reported a female on the first floor was hearing voices. The patient
reported not taking her medication and required transport to a medical facility.
An HUMC BLS unit transported a 23-year-old patient to a local facility.
3/4/2025 2:58 PM, (DWI - Arrest)
A patrol officer observed a vehicle driving erratically on Rochelle Avenue. The
vehicle passed several vehicles on the left, over the double yellow line. A motor
vehicle stop ensued, and the driver, a 59 year old male from Maywood, was
arrested and charged with DWI. He subsequently refused to submit breath
samples and was issued additional summonses for this refusal.
3/6/2025 6:17 PM, (Identity Theft)
A complainant walked in to headquarters to report being the victim of identity
theft. A 34-year-old male resident reported his credit report documented (63)
inquires from a company based in Texas. Upon contact with the company he
learned that his social security number was compromised. The victim suffered
no financial losses, only a drop in credit scores. Detectives assigned.
3/6/2025 10:47 PM, (Unwanted Person)
An employee of a West Passaic Street hotel reported a male on the 2nd floor
yelling and acting erratically. As officers approached Room 209, they heard loud
screams. A 50-year-old male from Paterson answered the door. He was
described as disheveled and writhing in pain. An ambulance was requested due to
suspected narcotic use.
3/7/2025 11:14 AM, (Unwanted Person)
An employee of a West Passaic Street hotel reported the resident of Room 209
checked out, however, he refused to leave the lobby. After a short negotiation,
the party accepted a courtesy transport to a local shopping mall.
3/7/2025 1:45 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol officer observed a vehicle on Plaza Way with heavy tinted windows. A
stop ensued and a passenger was found in possession of a bank card in anothers’
name. A 29-year-old male from Brooklyn was arrested and charged with
Receiving Stolen Property and Credit Card Theft. Officers likely averted
fraudulent purchases at a local shopping mall.
3/7/2025 8:05 PM, (Property Damage)
A 911 caller reported a male party broke the front door to an Essex Street chicken
wing establishment. Police learned that the customer was upset because his friend
sent him to the wrong wing store to pick up their order. Management recorded all
the kickers’ information and will handle the repairs internally.
3/8/2025 1:11 AM, (Commitment)
A 911 caller reported a male party passed out in front of 93 Forest Place.
Responding Officers located a male party asleep on the front lawn of a residence.
He had a laceration to the face and blood on his clothing. The male did not
possess identification and was only able to state that his name was “Jorge”. An
HUMC BLS unit transported the highly intoxicated male to a local hospital.
3/8/2025 7:25 PM, (Defiant Trespass)
An employee of 218 Route 17 North reported there is a male party inside the
closed offices. The employee observed the male on surveillance cameras,
wearing no shoes, with a large object on his head. Officers, assisted by Maywood
PD and The Bergen County Sheriff’s, conducted a building search. The male
could not be located, images were recorded and sent to detectives.
3/10/2025 11:48 PM, (Breach of Peace)
An East Rutherford couple was found arguing in the street on Becker Avenue.
The two stated that had a verbal argument over dinner at a nearby restaurant. No
further action required, the parties left the area.
3/11/2025 8:33 PM, (Juvenile Complaint)
A resident of Cedar Drive reported his 15-year-old son stole money from his
wallet. A Patrol Officer spoke with the juvenile who reported he was retaliating
because his phone was taken away. Officers explained the severity of theft and
the parents were satisfied with the outcome.
3/12/2025 3:30 PM, (DWI - Arrest)
A caller reported a male party asleep behind the wheel with open containers of
alcohol. The vehicle was located in a West Passaic Street supermarket. The
driver, a 60-year-old male from Maywood was asleep with a 24 ounce can of
Miller Lite in his hand. The driver failed field sobriety tests, was arrested, and
subsequently submitted samples of his breath that registered almost 3 times the
legal limit.
3/13/2025 9:40 AM, (Commitment)
Bergen County Communications forwarded a phone report of a suicidal male at a
West Passaic Street apartment complex. Officers located the male inside of an
apartment, the 52-year-old male resident was found in a heavily intoxicated state.
HUMC BLS transported the patient to a local facility.
3/13/2025 12:13 PM, (Suspicious Vehicle)
Two callers reported a van parked on Parkway occupied by homeless males who
appear to be drinking. Patrol located the van and found it to be a mobile pet
groomer. No homelessness or alcohol consumption witnessed by police.
3/13/2025 3:16 PM, (Arrest -Adult)
Loss prevention from a Passaic Street supermarket reported a female panhandler
outside of the store entrance. Patrol located 2 females seated with a cardboard
sign. A 20-year-old female from Little Ferry was found to possess multiple NCIC
warrants for her arrest. The female was taken into custody and lodged in the
Bergen County Jail to await Ocean County Sheriff’s Officers.
3/14/2025 8:32 PM, (Trespassing)
Multiple callers reported a trespassing suspect from a prior date returned to a
Route 17 building. Patrol Officers located a 39-year-old male walking on East
Passaic Street. The male was charged with Defiant Trespass and turned over to
the Sheriff’s Department. The suspect was later found to be a burglary suspect in
Teaneck. Detectives are investigating.
In addition, (13) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (179) motor vehicle
stops were conducted in a 14-day span.
