Secaucus Recreation Summer Day Camp Head Counselor, Secaucus NJ
Secaucus Recreation is looking for a committed individual with experience working with
children of all ages in our Game On summer camp program.
Job Responsibilities:
The Camp Head Counselor will oversee the daily operations of the camp, ensuring that campers have a
safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience. The Head Counselor will manage a team of counselors, handle
camper issues, and serve as a role model for both staff and campers. The role requires strong leadership,
organizational skills, and the ability to create a positive, supportive environment for all campers.
The camp will run from June 30th-August 8th.
Camp Program: Game On
Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Requirements:
- Prior teaching or Summer Camp Administration experience preferred, but not necessary.
- Applicants must obtain federal and state background clearances.
- Maintain regular communication with the Camp Director and other senior staff to ensure smooth operation of camp activities.
- Must be creative, enthusiastic and have a strong desire to mentor children.
- Must be available prior to start of camp for planning and coordination with the coordinator.
- Must be able to provide the proper planning, execution, and evaluation of the day-to-day programmatic and logistical operations of the Summer Day Camp
program.
- Be aware of and implement safety guidelines.
- Lead and supervise a team of counselors, ensuring they provide excellent care and supervision for campers.
- Must be available for the full two months during the camp period.
