Sussex County Library System (SCLS) announces a temporary closure of the Franklin Branch to replace the roof beginning Monday, April 14, 2025. The branch is scheduled to reopen to the public on Monday, April 28, 2025.
Bookdrops located at the branch are expected to be available during construction and emptied daily. Borrowers with outstanding hold requests will be contacted to arrange an alternate pickup location or to suspend their holds until the branch reopens. SCLS apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure and asks for the community's understanding and patience during this period.
Community members are encouraged to utilize the services and resources available at one of the five nearby SCLS branches, including the Dorothy Henry Branch (66 Route 94, Vernon) and the Main Library (125 Morris Turnpike, Frankford). Library cardholders can always access the Sussex County Library System's extensive digital collection, including eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and more through the library's website and digital platforms.
Visit the SCLS website for more information including open borrowing policies, hours and locations of branches, eResources, and calendar of events at www.sussexcountylibrary.org. SCLS and the Franklin Branch thank the community for their patience and support during this temporary closure.
