On March 9, 2025 Sgt Royce located a stolen vehicle parked and unoccupied at the Short Hills Mall, with fraudulent temporary license plates. The vehicle was a 2020 Dodge Challenger stolen out of Elizabeth in 2023. A short time later, a male occupant returned to the vehicle and entered the driver’s seat. The driver Waldin Dufrene, age 29, of Union, was placed under arrest. He was charged with receiving a stolen vehicle. He had active arrest warrants out of Millburn and Union township.

On March 17,2025 Millburn Officer Recinos attempted to stop a 2025 Honda Accord on JFk Parkway near the Short Hills mall for a motor vehicle violation. Officer Recinos activated his emergency lights and sirens, however the vehicle failed to pull over and stop and fled on JFK Pkwy at high rate of speed. Officer Recinos did not pursue the vehicle due to safety reasons. An investigation was conducted, revealing the identity of the driver. Lamir Jones, 18, of Newark, was arrested and charged with eluding police in a motor vehicle.

On March 25, 2025 Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to single vehicle crash on Hobart Ave and Knollwood Rd. The investigation led to the arrest of Jennifer Chinchilla, age 41, of Springfield for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Chinchilla was charged with DWI and several other motor vehicle violations and later released to an acquaintance.

On April 2, 2025 Millburn Police responded to a report of check fraud at M&T Bank, located at 62 Main Street, following an incident involving a male suspect impersonating a bank customer. The suspect provided a fake ID and attempted to deposit a check and requested a large cash withdrawal. However, the bank declined the transaction, and the suspect fled the scene in a grey BMW 530. Millburn Officer Dalakian located the suspect's vehicle on Millburn Ave, where a stop was initiated. This led to the arrest of three individuals: Sherrir Rupertt, 24, and Juzan Spence, 29, both from the Bronx, NY, and Erik Wells, 54, from Pennsylvania. All three suspects were charged with multiple offenses, including identity theft, forgery, credit card theft, and conspiracy.

On April 2, 2025, during the early morning hours the Millburn Police Department responded to a Glen Ave residence on a report of a burglary that just occurred. The actors entered the residence through an unlocked window. They were scared off by the homeowners, and fled in a vehicle. The suspect vehicle was located and a pursuit was initiated but had to be terminated due to safety concerns. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Department Detective Bureau.

On April 7, 2025 Millburn Police Officer Recinos stopped a 2012 Honda Ody for a motor vehicle violation. The investigation led to the arrest of Martha Cortesjimenez, age 31, of Springfield for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI and several other motor vehicle violations.


These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
