Renato C. LaTorre
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic County Sheriff Thomas Adamo
announce that Renato C. LaTorre, age 25, of Paterson, New Jersey, was found guilty after a jury trial
before the Honorable Barbara J. Buono Stanton, J.S.C., of one count of second degree Endangering
the Welfare of a Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(a)(iii) and one count of third degree
Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(b)(iii).
On April 4, 2023, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)
Task Force received information through The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
(NCMEC) indicating that the user of a Google account belonging to Renato C. LaTorre had uploaded
15 videos depicting Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) between June 22, 2022, and July 18,
2022. Members of the ICAC Task Force located an additional 18 videos associated with Mr.
LaTorre’s Google account. Based on the investigation, Renato C. LaTorre was identified as the
person in control of the account containing 33 videos depicting CSAM. On April 4, 2023, at about
10:00 a.m., members of the ICAC Task Force arrested Mr. Latorre at his residence in Paterson.
The Honorable Barbara J. Buono Stanton, J.S.C., presided over a jury trial that commenced on March
13, 2025. On March 26, 2025, a Passaic County petit jury convicted Mr. LaTorre of second degree
Endangering the Welfare of a Child and third degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Judge
Stanton scheduled Mr. LaTorre’s sentencing hearing for May 9, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Mr. LaTorre was
remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his sentencing hearing.
The sentencing exposure on second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in violation of
N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(a)(iii), it is 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison with a 5-year period of
parole ineligibility and on third degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in violation of N.J.S.A.
2C:24-4b(5)(b)(iii), it is 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. Renato C. LaTorre is subject to the
Special Sentence of Parole Supervision for Life by Motion of the Prosecutor and Megan’s Law
registrant requirements.

and Mr. LaTorre was represented by Darryl Richardson, Esq.
