1. On March 6, 2025, at approximately 1 a.m., Police Officers Valentino Salgado and Ricky
Truppner conducted a sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building on the 400 block
of Marshall Drive and located a man, later identified as 41-year-old Ernest Walker of Hoboken,
in the stairwell. When Walker made eye contact with one of the officers, he began to run down
the stairs and out of the building. He didn’t stop despite officers ordering him to do so multiple
times. Officers caught Walker outside, but as they attempted to arrest him, he fled again. They
chased him until they caught up with him on the 300 block of Marshall Drive. Walker continued
to resist arrest by tensing his arms and tucking his right arm under his stomach. Sgt. Michael
Straten and Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez and Brandon Cappelluti arrived on the scene to
assist. Walker was handcuffed and transported to an area hospital to be cleared before being
taken to Hoboken Police Headquarters. It was discovered he had two open warrants out of
Hoboken for harassment and criminal mischief. He was processed on the warrants and new
charges of resisting arrest by flight, defiant trespassing, and obstructing the administration of the
law. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
2. On March 6, 2025, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Police Officer Nasir Willey responded to the
600 block of Garden Street on reports of an assault. Sgt. Tyler Soto and Police Officers Anthony
Rutkowski and Enrico Gnassi arrived on the scene to assist. An on-scene investigation revealed
that an individual, later identified as 58-year-old Sergio Mele, got into a verbal disagreement
with another person, and then physically assaulted the other person by pulling her hair, biting her
hand causing a cut, and hitting her in the head with a telephone and his fist. He was arrested and
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was charged with aggravated assault,
possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and criminal
mischief. After processing he was given a summons and released from custody.
3. On March 6, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Police Officer Matthew Bonanno responded
to Carpe Diem, 1405 Grand St., on reports of a theft. An on-scene investigation revealed
someone had taken a bookbag with a checkbook and laptop inside, along with a bottle of alcohol
worth approximately $400, before walking out of the establishment. At approximately 5:35 p.m.,
Sgt. Harold Milne, Sgt. Michael Losurdo and Police Officers Mario Rodriguez, Stephen
Chowanec, Enrico Gnassi, and Ahmed Makshat responded to the area of 12th and Garden Streets
after the actor was identified by civilians who called the police. The man, later identified as 21-
year-old Davon Duiguid of Lyndhurst, was arrested for theft. During a search incident to arrest,
Duiguid resisted arrest and became aggressive toward officers. Officers were able to conduct the
search and located a push rod and copper mesh. He was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters, where he refused to exit the patrol vehicle and threatened the officers who were
trying to remove him from the car. He also made verbal threats of violence against police
officers and refused to be fingerprinted. It was discovered he had a warrant out of Lyndhurst
Township. He was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, making terroristic threats,
theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and refusal of fingerprinting. He was ultimately
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
4. On March 7, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Police Officers Valentino Salgado and
Carmen Benitez were on patrol on the 1100 block of Sinatra Drive when they saw a car illegally
parked in the middle of a lane. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens in an attempt
to have the driver move the car out of the way. They saw movement in the front seat, indicating
someone was inside, so they approached the vehicle and observed the driver’s eyes were closed.
The driver, later identified as 36-year-old Jamil Bickley of Irvington, was also sweating and
shaking. He eventually woke up and as he got out of the car, officers saw two darker colored
bottles, commonly known to obtain suspected prescription liquid narcotics in the driver's side
panel. Sgt. Michael Losurdo and Police Officers Ricky Truppner and Nicklas Valerius arrived on
the scene to assist. Bickley was arrested for possession of CDS and prescription legend drugs. He
was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing where he was also issued a
summons for obstructing the passage of a vehicle, before being taken to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
5. On March 7, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Police Officers Ricky Truppner and Nicklas
Valerius responded to TD Bank, 47 Newark St., on reports of a person inside the vestibule.
When they arrived, they observed a woman they identified as 48-year-old Stacey Bulter of
Hoboken, sleeping on the floor. She began to yell profanities at the officers. The Hoboken
Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Butler to a local hospital, where she was released with a
summons for defiant trespassing.
6. On March 7, 2025, at approximately 3:10 a.m., Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez and Brandon
Cappelluti responded to Hoboken University Medical Center, 308 Willow Ave., on reports of a
patient who had a large number of illegal narcotics in his possession. When they arrived, they
located the man, identified as 47-year-old Edwin Allende of Hoboken, and learned medical staff
had found four total bundles of heroin wax folds and a large amount of cash in his clothing when
he came in. He had been brought in by Hoboken Police earlier in the night, after ingesting an
unknown narcotic and began acting erratically. Allendale was charged with distribution of CDS
within 1,000 feet of school property, distribution of CDS, and possession of CDS with intent to
use. He was issued a summons and released into the care of the hospital.
7. On March 7, 2025, at approximately 4:15 a.m., Police Officers Trevor Thomas and Zackary
Guido responded to the 300 block of Marshall Drive on reports of someone smoking in the
hallway. They conducted a building sweep and located a man on a landing platform between the
fifth and sixth floors. When the man, later identified as 32-year-old Terrell Rampert of Brooklyn,
saw them he began to fidget with a glass cylindrical tube. Officers also saw a small plastic bag
on the floor next to Rampert that appeared to contain a white powdery substance believed to be
CDS methamphetamine. When he stood up his pants fell off, exposing his genitals. Rampert was
told he was under arrest, and he resisted, but officers were able to handcuff him. A search
incident to arrest of Rampert revealed a small glass capsule with a white powdery substance. He
was charged with lewdness, possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting
arrest. He was transported to Hoboken Pollice Headquarters for processing, before being released
from custody with a summons.
8. On March 7, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Police Officer Shawn Sodora responded to
ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting where the actor was in custody of store
security. An on-scene investigation revealed that a woman, identified as 33-year-old Christine
Cepeda of Hoboken, was seen placing multiple items in a laundry cart, which she then covered
with fabric. She also placed some items in a shopping cart. When she got to the check-out,
Cepeda only paid for the items in the shopping cart and not the approximate $150 worth of items
in the laundry cart. She was placed under arrest for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters for processing. She was issued a summons, given a court date, and released
from custody.
9. On March 7, 2025, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Sgt. Roary Miller and Police Officers
Alexander Miller and Anthony Rutkowski responded to Panela, 36 Newark St. on reports of a
man shoving other patrons and refusing to leave the woman’s bathroom. When officers arrived,
they told the man, later identified as 29-year-old Aliquan Flowers of Jersey City, that he had to
leave, or he would be arrested for trespassing. He would not provide his name or information to
officers, disregarded their officer comments and orders to leave, and yelled at them to not touch
him. He was placed under arrest and transported to an area hospital where he was released with a
summons for defiant trespassing.
10. On March 8, 2025, at approximately 2:35 a.m., Police Officers Valentino Salgado and John
Lawton were in the area of River and Newark Streets, when they saw a large crowd gathering
and arguing. The verbal dispute turned physical between multiple people. The officers began to
separate the individuals involved, and observed two men, later identified as 20-year-old Omar
Ziyadeh of Fairview and 23-year-old Mathew Jasinski of Elmwood Park actively fighting. Both
were placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Ziyadeh charged with
simple assault and disorderly conduct. Jasinski was charged with simple assault and disorderly
conduct. Both were ultimately released from police custody with summonses.
11. On March 8, 2025, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez and Trevor
Thomas were on patrol on Jackson Street when they observed a man they identified as 55-year-old Edwin Sierra of Hoboken, and knew he had a warrant out for his arrest. They stopped him on
the 300 block of Jackson Street and the warrant was confirmed. Sierra was arrested and
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, where he was processed on the warrant for simple
assault out of Union City. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional
Facility.
12. On March 8, 2025, at approximately 12 p.m., Sgt. Adam Colon was on the 50 block of
Washington Street when he saw 38-year-old Eugene Ortiz of Jersey City, who he knew was
wanted on a warrant. Sgt. Tyler Soto and Police Officers Nasir Willey and Salgado Valentino
arrived on scene to assist. The warrant out of Hudson County was confirmed and Ortiz was
arrested. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and processed on the warrant for
failure to appear. He was later transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
13. On March 8, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Police Officers John Lawton and Shyenna
Vega responded to Basile’s Pizza, 89 Washington St., on reports of a woman acting disorderly.
Officers saw the actor, who they identified as 48-year-old Stacey Butler of Hoboken, just outside
the pizza shop. An on-scene investigation revealed Butler had been yelling profanities at
customers and staff members. Police Officer Nasir Willey arrived on the scene to assist. Butler
yelled profanities at the officers and people walking by. It was discovered she had a warrant
from the Hudson County Sheriff's Office, and she was placed under arrest, and transported to an
area hospital due to her erratic behavior. A search incident to arrest located a glass cylindrical
pipe with burn marks on both ends and wire mesh. She was charged with disorderly conduct,
possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping, and refusal to be fingerprinted. She was
ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
14. On March 8, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Police Officer John Rodriguez and Shawn
Sodora responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting, where the actor was
in custody of store security. An on-scene investigation revealed the actor, later identified as 68-
year-old Emerelinda Reyes of Hoboken, was seen putting seven items worth approximately
$105, in her purse. She paid for approximately $12 worth of merchandise and tried to leave with
the rest, before she was stopped by security. Reyes was arrested for shoplifting and transported
to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and released with a summons.
15. On March 8, 2025, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Police Officers Brian Kim and John
Lawton responded to Observer Parking Garage, 51 Garden St., on reports of a driver
unconscious behind the wheel of a car that was parked but still running. Officers attempted to
wake up the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Sophia Lacalamita of Commack, NY. Sgt.
Daniel Grossi, Sgt. Roary Miller, and Police Officer Nasir Willey arrived on the scene to assist.
When Lacalamita woke up, she opened the door to the car, and officers observed the odor of an
alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Officers also observed her speech was slurred.
She was asked to perform a field sobriety test, which she refused. She was placed under arrest
and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, where she refused to provide a breath sample.
She was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal of breath test,
and refusal of a field sobriety test. As per John’s Law, she was released into the custody of a
responsible party.
16. On March 9, 2025, at approximately 12:35 a.m., Police Officers Trevor Thomas and
Valentino Salgado responded to Garage B, 47 Second St., on reports someone driving the wrong
way down a one-way lane inside the garage. When they arrived, officers observed the car parked
facing the wrong way. Police Officer Shawn Sodora was also on the scene, as he had witnessed
the vehicle driving the wrong way and believed the driver to be intoxicated. The driver,
identified as 22-year-old Juan Hernandez Flores of Parsippany, had the odor of an alcoholic
beverage emanating from his breath. Officers observed an empty bottle of rum in the rear seat of
the vehicle. Police Officer Daniela Simone arrived on the scene to conduct a field sobriety test,
after which Flores arrested for driving under the influence. He was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters for processing and charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless
driving. As per John’s Law, Flores was released into the custody of a responsible party.
17. On March 9, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., multiple Hoboken police officers responded
to the 50 block of River Street, on reports of a group of people fighting with possible weapons
involved. Upon arrival, they were waved down by bouncers at Texas Arizona, 76 River St., who
believed one of the actors involved in the fight had a firearm and ran toward the Hoboken
Terminal. An on-scene investigation revealed that two groups got into a verbal altercation, which
turned into a physical fight during which one of the actors threatened gun violence against the
other group. Officers located a group of individuals inside the Hoboken Terminal, including one
who fit the description of one of the actors. As officers approached the group, some of them
began to run. Hoboken Police and New Jersey Transit Police were able to catch and detain three
males, later identified as 22-year-old Jaysin Pichardo of New York City, 22-year-old Enrique
Portorreal of New York City, and 22-year-old Julyan Caballero of the Bronx. They were placed
under arrest for obstructing the administration of the law. Caballero was also charged with
resisting arrest, after he tensed up while he was being handcuffed. No weapon was discovered.
All three were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing, before being released
with summonses.
18. On March 10, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Police Officers David Chicara and
Geovanni Cruzado responded to Hoboken University Medical Center, 308 Willow Ave., on
reports of a man who shattered a glass door. An on-scene investigation revealed a discharged
patient threw a scooter into the sliding glass door, causing it to shatter. Police Officers Anish
Bhisey and Frank Losurdo located an individual who was wearing a hospital bracelet, and fit the
description of the actor, at the Hoboken Terminal. He was identified as 33-year-old Orlando
Rodriguez of Manhattan and was arrested for criminal mischief. He was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters for processing and released from custody on a summons with a court date.
19. On March 10, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., 62-year-old Carolyn Norman of Hoboken
arrived at Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing on charges of theft, theft of identity, and
simple assault. The charges were in connection to an incident on February 24, 2025, when
Norman took another person’s debit card and used it. When the other person confronted Norman
about the incident an argument ensued, resulting in Norman grabbing the other person by the
throat, causing pain and discomfort. On March 10, after being processed, Norman was released
with a court date.
20. On March 10, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Police Officers Leroy Sherrill and Roberto
Cuevas responded to the Bergen County Jail to pick up an individual identified as 32-year-old
Jesus Rodriguez of Paterson, who was wanted in Hoboken on a warrant. Rodriguez was
identified as the actor in an identity theft reported on November 18, 2024, following an
investigation by Police Officer Chelsea Tamborra. He was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters and processed. It was discovered he had a warrant from Norwalk, CT, but he
refused to be fingerprinted again on that warrant. He was further charged with being a fugitive of
justice and refusal to be fingerprinted and photographed. Rodriguez was ultimately transported to
the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
21. On March 10, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Police Officer Anthony Olivera responded
to Blue Eyes Restaurant, 525 Sinatra Dr., on reports of an argument that appeared to be turning
physical. Police Officers Alyssa Rivera and Kyle Seper also responded. It was learned the
argument never became physical, and both parties began to walk away, until one of the
individuals, identified as 35-year-old Wilmer Portilla of Union City, turned around and spit in
the direction of the officers who then told him he was being placed under arrest. Portilla began to
kick his legs and refused to give his arm to officers to be handcuffed. He was ultimately
handcuffed and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Portilla was charged with
aggravated assault, resisting arrest, throwing bodily fluids at law enforcement officers, and
disorderly conduct. It was discovered he had an outstanding warrant out of Union City. He was
given a new court date on the warrant and released from custody.
22. On March 11, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Pollice Officers Carmen Benitez and Anish
Bhisey conducted a sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building on the 600 block of
Sixth Street when they came across a man later identified as Louis Fernandez. It was discovered
he did not live in the building. Police Officers Frank Losurdo and Ronald Kibitlewski arrived on
the scene to assist. It was discovered Fernandez had a warrant out of Hoboken for shoplifting. A
search incident to arrest found a glass cylinder pipe, a bag containing two vials with suspected
CDS cocaine. Fernandez was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with
criminal trespassing, possession with intent to use, possession of CDS. He was processed on the
warrant and new charges and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional facility.
23. On March 11, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Police Officers Leroy Sherrill and Roberto
Cuevas responded to the area of Newark Street and Jefferson Street on reports that two people,
wanted on active warrants, were seen in the area. Officers located the two individuals, identified
as 48-year-old Shaneka Boatwright of Jersey City and 53-year-old Taheed Muhammad of
Orange, and confirmed they were both wanted for fraudulent use of a credit card, in connection
to a January 26, 2025, report of a missing or stolen credit card being used. A follow-up
investigation, led by Police Officer Joshua Campoverde, identified Boatwright and Muhammad
as the actors who used the card at multiple locations in Hoboken. After the warrants were
confirmed on March 11, a search incident to arrest of Boatwright located two cylindrical glass
pipes, a white rock-like substance suspected to be CDS crack cocaine, and copper wiring. She
was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of CDS and ultimately
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. It was discovered Muhammad was also
wanted on warrants out of Jersey City and Kearny. He was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters, processed, and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
24. On March 11, 2025, at approximately 11:35 a.m., Sgt. Adam Colon was on patrol on the 800
block of Jackson Street when he saw a man he knew was 41-year-old Angelo Santiago of
Hoboken and knew he was wanted on a warrant out of North Bergen. The warrant was
confirmed. Police Officers Aaron Font, Teddy Santiago, Anthony Ingraffia, Joshua Campoverde,
Frank Lombardo, and Harry Montalvo arrived on the scene to assist. A search incident to arrest
located a broken glass cylindrical tube with a burnt end commonly used to smoke crack cocaine
and a package with a white powdery rock-like substance suspected to be bath-salts, and two
capped syringes. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of synthetic cathinones. He was transported to
the North Bergen Police Department to be processed on the warrant there.
25. On March 11, 2025, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Police Officer Arturo Gonzalez was in the
area of Madison and Third Streets when he saw a woman he knew was 50-year-old Patricia
Lavacchi of Union City, and he knew she had an open warrant. The warrant, issued out of
Hudson County on February 28, 2025, was confirmed. Lavacchi was arrested and transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing, after which she was transported to the Hudson
County Correctional Facility.
26. On March 12, 2025, at approximately 8 a.m., Police Officer Christopher Barral responded to
the 700 block of Hudson Street on reports of a trespasser inside the building. He located 22-year-old Benarld Mota of Union City, lying on the first-floor landing of the stairs. Police Officers
Elias Colon and Nasir Wiley arrived on the scene to assist. Mota was issued a summons for
defiant trespassing and released from custody.
27. On March 12, 2025, at approximately 2:35 p.m., Police Officers Harry Montalvo and Frank
Lombardo responded to the 1400 block of Hudson Street on reports of a car parked in a restricted
area and the driver possibly under the influence. They located the vehicle with the ignition still
on, and the driver, later identified as 46-year-old Mark Zembruzski of Bayonne, inside the car.
When they approached, officers smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from inside
of the vehicle. Zembruzski was asked to shut off the engine, which he did. Officers observed his
eyes to be glassy and his speech slurred and slowed. He was given a field sobriety test after
which he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Zembruzski was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters for processing. He was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated,
reckless driving, and parking in a loading zone. As per John’s Law, he was later released into the
custody of a responsible party.
28. On March 12, 2025, at approximately 4 p.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Michael
Chen responded to the Hoboken Shelter, 300 Bloomfield St., on reports of a man acting
disorderly. Upon arrival, employees pointed out the man, later identified as 39-year-old Matthew
Farrell of Hoboken and asked the officers to remove him from the establishment. Farrell refused
to leave, and when officers told him he had to leave, he walked toward the exit and said he was
going to slap them. He was placed under arrest for defiant trespassing. Farrell resisted arrest by
swinging his arms and tensing them up. He eventually cooperated and was handcuffed. While
placing him in the patrol car, Farrell unbuckled his seat and tried to leave. He kicked one of the
officers and the rear window. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he
verbally threatened officers with violence. He was charged with aggravated assault on a law
enforcement officer with bodily injury, making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and
resisting arrest. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
29. On March 12, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Police officers Joshua Campoverde and
Anthony Ingraffia were on the 500 block of Sixth Street when they observed a person they
identified as 39-year-old Flavio Ordonez of Union City and knew had an outstanding warrant.
The warrant for burglary and theft in connection to a package theft reported on March 7, was
confirmed and Ordonez was arrested. Sgt. Tyler Soto and Police Officers Tyrone Huggins and
Aaron Font arrived on the scene to assist. Ordonez was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters, processed and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility
