1. On February 13, 2025, at approximately 11:50 a.m., Sgt. Steven Kranz and Police Officers
Enrico Gnassi and Bianca Arroyo responded to Hoboken City Hall, 94 Washington St., to
transport a man, later identified as 45-year-old Julio Pineda of West New York, to the Hudson
County Correctional Facility. While in court, he was found to be violating parole and ordered by
a Judge to be arrested.
2. On February 13, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m. Sgt. James Barbro responded to CVS, 59
Washington St., on reports of a possible shoplifter inside the store. An on-scene investigation
revealed the actor, later identified as 41-year-old Tiffany Malone of Jersey City, had become
loud and threw two bottles of hand cream at an employee, before she left the store. Officer Harry
Montalvo observed Malone at Taco Bell, 38 Hudson Pl. She refused to give her name at first and
threw herself on the ground in an effort to refuse an identification procedure. She was arrested
for obstruction and transported to the Hoboken Police Department where it was discovered she
had a warrant out of Hoboken for shoplifting. She was ultimately transported to the Hudson
County Correctional Facility.
3. On February 14, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Ronald
Kibitlewski were driving on Seventh Street when they observed a vehicle make a sudden stop on
Bloomfield Street. They followed the car which sped up, swerved, and made another abrupt stop
before failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. They pulled the car over and identified
the driver as 36-year-old Jessica Suarez of Union City. She had difficulty providing her license
when asked and the officers observed her eyes to be watery and blood shot, and her speech
slurred. They also detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath. A field
sobriety test was performed, after which Suarez was placed under arrest for driving while
intoxicated. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she refused to submit to
breath testing. She was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal
to submit to breath testing, and failure to stop or yield. As per John’s Law, Suarez was released
into the custody of a responsible party.
4. On February 14, 2025, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Police Officers Michael Chen and
Brandon Cappelluti observed a vehicle parked on the 300 block of Jackson Street, and they knew
the owner of the car, 30-year-old Curtis Brown of Elizabeth, had a warrant for his arrest. Police
Officers Jessica Pizanie, Leroy Sherrill, and Trevor Thomas arrived on the scene to assist. The
warrants were confirmed, and Brown was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters. He had warrants out of Union Township for aggravated assault, Scotch Plains for
harassment, Newark for driving without a license, and North Bergen for driving without an
insurance card. Brown was issued a summons for operating a vehicle without a license and
transported to Union Township Police Department.
5. On February 15, 2025, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Police Officers Ronald Kibitlewski and
Anish Bhisey were conducting a building sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA)
building on the 400 block of Marshall Drive when they saw two people in the stairwell. Lt.
Jonathan Bulter and Sgt. Daniel Grossi arrived on the scene to assist. It was learned that one of
the men, later identified as 35-year-old Charles Schmidt of Jersey City, did not live in the
building, nor did he have a valid reason to be inside. He was issued a summons for defiant
trespassing, escorted from the building, and released from custody.
6. On February 15, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Police Officers David Chicara and Nasir
Wiley were on patrol near the intersection of First and Washington Streets when they heard a
crash and saw a vehicle drive off. Police Officers Marvin De Jesus and Cynthia Rivera quickly
stopped the car. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Ibram Sidrak of Bayonne, was given a field
sobriety test, after which he was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Officers found
a bottle of tequila on the passenger side floor during a search of the car. Sidrak was arrested and
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He refused to finish a breath test. He was issued a
summons for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit breath test, reckless driving, leaving the
scene of an accident, and open/unsealed container. As per John’s Law, Sidrak was released into
the custody of a responsible party.
7. On February 15, 2025, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Police Officers Leroy Sherrill and
Brandon Cappelluti responded to CVS, 811 Clinton St., on reports of a woman who refused to
leave the store. Officers were able to identify her as 55-year-old Ivecka Leonard of Hoboken. It
was discovered she had two outstanding warrants out of Hoboken, one for obstructing a street,
sidewalk, or public place and the other for urinating in public. She was ultimately transported to
the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
8. On February 15, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Sgt. John Quinones and Police Officers
David Smentkowski, Ahmed Makshat, and Vincent Guastini responded to ShopRite, 900
Madison St., on reports of a shoplifter who was being detained by store security. An on-scene
investigation revealed the actor, later identified as 33-year-old Ebony Goodwin of Hoboken, was
seen concealing items inside a shopping bag, but only paying for about $10 of the approximately
$160 worth of merchandise she put in her bag. She was stopped near the exit and the police were
called. Goodwin was arrested, transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and processed on
shoplifting charges. She was released with a summons.
9. On February 15, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., Police Officer Christopher Barral was near
the intersection of Second and Harrison Streets and conducted a random license plate check of a
vehicle in the area and discovered that the registered owner of the vehicle had an outstanding
warrant for his arrest. The officer pulled the vehicle over on the 50 block of Harrison Street. Sgt.
Michael Losurdo and Police Officer Shawn Sodora arrived on the scene to assist. The warrant
out of Hudson County was confirmed and the driver, identified as 40-year-old Aaron Branch of
Jersey City, was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he
was processed on the warrant. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Sheriff's
Office.
10. On February 15, 2025, at approximately 8 p.m., Sgt. Harold Milne and Police Officers
Mario Rodriguez, David Smentkowski, Donovan Ortiz, Stephen Chowanec, Vincent Guastini,
and Ahmed Makshat were conducting a building sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority
building on the 400 block of Marshall Drive when they came in contact with a man, later
identified as 63-year-old Domingo Santiago of Hoboken. It was learned he did not live in the
building, and he was placed under arrest for defiant trespassing. He was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters and processed, before being released from custody with a summons.
11. On February 16, 2025, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Police Officers David Chicara and
Anish Bhisey responded to the 300 block of Washington Street on reports of a person sleeping in
the basement. They found the man, later identified as 34-year-old Noah Olaliyi of Hoboken and
told him he was trespassing. He was issued a summons for defiant trespassing, escorted from the
building, and released from custody.
12. On February 16, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Sgt. Michael Losurdo was on patrol
when he was flagged down by bystanders who told him there was a fight near the intersection of
Newark and Court Streets. Sgt. Losurdo located the fight and began to break it up. Police
Officers David Chicara, Anish Bhisey, and Nicholas Protopapadakis arrived on the scene to
assist, along with New Jersey Transit Police Officers. Three men ignored multiple commands to
stop fighting. They were all told they’d be placed under arrest. One of them, later identified as
21-year-old Daniel Castillo of Belleville, resisted by tensing up his right arm, resulting in one
officer falling to the ground. Two others, later identified as 21-year-old Osvaldo Ruiz-Vazquez
of Garfield and 21-year-old Sebastian Castro of Belleville, were also placed under arrest. All
three were transported to Hoboken Police headquarters, where Castillo continued to act
disorderly, Castro lunged at officers and verbally threatened physical violence against them, and
Ruiz-Vazquez began arguing with officers and threatened one of them. Castillo was charged with
simple assault and disorderly conduct. Castro was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing
the administration of law, and making terroristic threats. Ruiz-Vazquez was charged with simple
assault and making terroristic threats. All three were processed and released with a summons and
court date.
13. On February 16, 2025, at approximately 2:35 a.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Ronald
Kibitlewski were on patrol when they saw multiple people fighting in front of Birch, 92 River St.
They approached the group and began to arrest a man, later identified as 41-year-old William
Mendez of Elizabethport, who they saw punching another person. Mendez attempted to resist
arrest but was eventually handcuffed. During the arrest of Mendez, another individual, later
identified as 29-year-old Ana Lazo of Roselle, jumped on one of the officers causing him to fall.
She also grabbed his eyeglasses and tried to take off his body-worn camera. Lazo was placed
under arrest. Another person, later identified as 48-year-old Blanca Sanchez of Roselle also
interfered, by telling officers they could not arrest Mendez, struck their arms, and shouted threats
of violence, including “I’m going to shoot you,” multiple times. While she was being placed
under arrest, she resisted by pulling away and flailing, causing a minor injury to one of the
officers' hands. Lt. Jonathan Butler, Sgt. Michael Losurdo, and Police Officers Geovanni
Cruzado, Mark Mooreman, Dominick Allegretta, Nicholas Protopapadakis, and Keven De La
Cruz arrived on the scene to assist. As they arrived, another individual, later identified as 27-
year-old Jesenia Lazo of Maryland, pushed one of the officers, and kicked him in the chest. She
was placed under arrest. All four arrestees were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters.
Mendez was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Sanchez was charged with
aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with bodily injury, aggravated assault on a law
enforcement officer, making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. Ana Lazo
was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and hindering apprehension of
another person. Jesenia Lazo was charged on a summons with aggravated assault on a law
enforcement officer and resisting arrest. After processing, all four were released with
summonses.
14. On February 16, 2025, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Police Officers Harry Montalvo and
Michael Chen observed a verbal dispute between three people outside of Madd Hatter Bar and
Restaurant, 221 Washington St. The officers approached and separated the parties. Sgt. Roary
Miller and Police Officers Joe Lupo and Nasir Willey arrived on the scene to assist. One of the
individuals in the argument, later identified as 38-year-old Ronald Bennett of Hoboken, began to
yell and scream and was asked to leave the area but did not. He became more irate and started an
argument with a bystander. He was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was processed and released with a summons and court date.
15. On February 16, 2025, at approximately 11:05 p.m., Police Officers Ahmed Makshat,
Stephen Chowanec, Mario Rodriguez, David Smentkowski, Vincent Guastini, and Donovan
Ortiz responded to the 300 block of Harrison Street on reports of a person down. While
conducting a sweep of a nearby building on Marshall Drive, officers found a man, later identified
as 32-year-old Alexander Peguero of Bayonne on the seventh-floor rooftop landing, with his
shoes off. It was determined he did not live in the building, which is on Hoboken Housing
Authority (HHA) property, and he was arrested for defiant trespassing. A search incident to
arrest located a cylindrical glass pipe containing copper wire mesh, a small ball of copper mesh,
and a small blade. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and it was learned he
had a warrant out of Lehigh County, PA. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
and defiant trespassing. Peguero was processed and transported to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
16. On February 17, 2025, at approximately 6:55 p.m., Sgt. Harold Milne and Police Officers
Donovan Ortiz, Mario Rodriguez, and Stephen Chowanec responded to a private garage on the
50 block of Park Avenue, on reports of two people possibly trespassing and consuming alcohol
on the property. They located two individuals, later identified as 41-year-old Carlos Garcia of
Hoboken and 27-year-old Kayla Moreno of Hoboken. Both were observed with beer. It was
confirmed they were on the property without permission and informed they were trespassing.
Both were issued summonses for defiant trespassing and open container, escorted from the
property, told they couldn’t return, and released from custody.
17. On February 18, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Police Officers Christopher Soto and
Keven De La Cruz responded to TD Bank, 47 Newark St., on reports of an individual sleeping in
the vestibule. Officers found the man and identified him as 62-year-old Antonio Figueroa of
Hoboken and it was learned he had a warrant out of Hoboken for defiant trespassing. He was
arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was issued a summons for
defiant trespassing. Figueroa was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional
Facility.
18. On February 18, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Sgt. Harold Milne and Police Officers
Mario Rodriguez, Stephen Chowanec, and Donavan Ortiz were conducting a sweep of a
Hoboken Housing Authority building on the 600 block of Sixth Street when they came in contact
with an individual later identified as 46-year-old Jacquelin Dunleavy of Hoboken. It was
determined she was not a resident and had no valid reason for being in the building. She was
arrested for defiant trespassing. A search incident to arrest located a glass pipe burnt at one end
and an empty wax fold. Dunleavy was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and
additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She also had a warrant out of
Hudson County Court.
19. On February 18, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Det. Sgt. William Collins and Police
Officer Nicholas Protopapadakis were conducting a building sweep of a Hoboken Housing
Authority building on the 300 block of Harrison Street when they encountered a person that was
not a resident of the building. The individual was identified as 40-year-old Javione Lessane of
Hoboken, and it was discovered he had open warrants for his arrest out of Hudson County for
aggravated assault and child support violations. Detectives Samuel Flores and Fabian Quinones
and Police Officers Alexander Miller and Anthony Azzoline arrived on the scene to assist. A
search incident to arrest located a small clear plastic bag tied off in a knot containing a white
substance suspected to be CDS cocaine. 16 additional plastic bags containing a white rock like
substance were found inside a bag in Lessane’s possession. He also had $70 in United States
currency, believed to be profits from narcotics distribution. He was transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters and charged with defiant trespassing, possession with intent to distribute
CDS crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute CDS crack cocaine within 500 feet of
public housing, and possession with intent to distribute CDS crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a
school. He was processed and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
20. On February 18, 2024, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Sgt. Roary Miller and Sgt. Daniel
Grossi observed a person in distress on the 300 block of Jackson Street. When they approached,
they observed he had multiple cuts and bruises, and the man stated he had been attacked about 10
minutes earlier. An on-scene investigation identified the actor as 30-year-old Julian Braxton of
Hoboken, who left the area shortly before officers arrived on the scene. He was charged with
aggravated assault and endangering an injured victim. The victim was transported to Hoboken
University Medical Center for treatment. On February 19, 2024, at approximately 4:40 p.m.,
Police Officers Zackary Guido and Matthew Bonanno were on the 300 block of Jackson Street
when they observed Braxton, confirmed the warrant, and placed him under arrest. He was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing, and it was discovered he was a
certain person not to have a weapon in connection with a prior conviction. Since he was found to
be in possession of a switchblade during his arrest, he was additionally processed on a possession
charge. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
