Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information related to an ongoing death investigation at Ross Dock in Fort Lee, NJ. This investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department, under the direction of Chief Steven Shallop.
On Saturday, March 1, 2025, at approximately 10:58 a.m., the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department responded to Ross Dock in Fort Lee where a body was discovered along the shoreline. Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit were notified, responded to the scene, and launched a joint investigation with the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department. Detectives have since identified the deceased as 25-year-old Jairo Lopez-Lopez of Hempstead, New York.
