Criminal Mischief
On Sunday 2/23/2025, PO Barbosa was dispatched to the 400 block of Warren Street for a criminal mischief report. PO Barbosa met with the victim who stated at approximately 4pm, two unknown white juveniles, one specifically wearing a blue jacket, walked up to his residence and physically kicked his outside screen door. The victim stated the screen door is approximately worth $200.00. The two unknown juveniles fled on foot westbound on Warren Street towards Frank E. Rodgers Blvd and were out of the area prior to police response.
Burglary to Auto
On Tuesday 02/25/2025, at approximately 11am, PO Morel and PO Mainiero responded to Mulock Place for a vehicle that was broken into. The victim stated she parked her vehicle the previous night at approximately 6pm and when she returned this morning her belongings in the vehicle were ransacked. The victim did not believe anything was missing and did not remember if she locked her vehicle; there were no signs of forced entry.
Warrant Arrest
On Wednesday, 02/26/2025,at approximately 1 am, while patrolling the area of Harrison Ave east, PO Delgado observed a white Ford Mustang driving in the opposite lane of traffic. A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the intersection of Harrison Ave and Washington St. While checking the driver’s credentials, an active ATS warrant out of North Bergen in the amount of $2,500.00 was found and the driver was placed under arrest. The driver was issued one summons. North Bergen was contacted and they responded to HPD and took custody of the driver.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle
On 2/26/2024, at approximately 10pm,, PO Gerris was in the area of the Pechter's parking lot off of Warren Street, when he noticed a black Vespa scooter leaning against a utility pole, which appeared to be from a possible report he had taken in regard to a stolen scooter a few weeks prior. Dispatch checked the NJ registration, and the scooter was confirmed stolen. The HPD Detective Bureau took over the scene and conducted a follow up investigation.
Stolen Vehicle
On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at approximately 11pm, Harrison units responded to a call of a motor vehicle theft on Davis Ave and William St. PO Yamuca met with the victim who stated he parked his vehicle, a black Honda with Pennsylvania registration, outside of a residence while delivering food from door dash. When the victim was making the food delivery, he observed one suspect wearing a yellow hoodie exiting a beige Hyundai and enter the victim’s vehicle and drive off with his car south on Davis Ave. The victim also stated that his vehicle was unlocked and running with the keys in the ignition, while he was out of the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen.
DWI Arrest
On Saturday, 03/01/2025, at approximately mignight, while patrolling the area of Harrison Avenue, PO Maitin observed a white Honda Accord driving against traffic and almost crashing into an oncoming vehicle that was traveling East on Harrison Avenue. PO Maitin conducted at motor vehicle stop of this vehicle at 323 Harrison Ave, when the vehicle came to a stop in the grass area of Holy Cross Church. While speaking with the driver, the officers observed several open / empty alcoholic bottles on the front passenger seat and the driver’s speech was slurred. PO Puglla instructed the driver to step out of the vehicle and perform several field sobriety tests. Due to the results of the field sobriety tests, the driver was placed under arrest for DWI and transported to HPD for processing. The driver was issued summonses, advised of his pending court date and released to a responsible party, as per John’s Law.
Warrant Arrest
On 03/01/2025, at approximately 10pm, while patrolling the area of Harrison Ave and Manor Ave, PO Burgo performed a random license plate inquiry on a black Acura. The NJ Reg came back to the registered owner being a wanted person out of Middlesex Boro. Once the warrant was confirmed, a traffic stop was conducted at Harrison Ave & Wawa entrance. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters without incident. Middlesex Boro was contacted and they responded to HPD and took custody of the driver.
