1. On February 24th, 2025, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division
arrested 61-year-old Juan J. Cuyuch of North Bergen, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Cuyuch was then
transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest
processing, Mr. Cuyuch was issued summonses for traffic violations and then released into the custody of a responsible
adult.
2. On February 24th, 2025, the Guttenberg Police Department was contacted by the Rochelle Park Police Department,
informing our agency that they had a female in their custody with an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal
Court. Shortly after, members of the Rochelle Park Police Department arrived at our police headquarters with 46-year-old Rebecca B. Minarik of Palisades Park, NJ. Ms. Minarik was then placed under arrest and processed for the active
warrant. Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Minarik was released on her own recognizance, pending her
next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
3. On February 26th, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the lobby of
the Guttenberg Police Department after receiving a report of a theft. During their investigation, officers observed a
suspect take a baby stroller from private property, belonging to the victim. Officers quickly identified the suspect after
watching numerous CCTV surveillance camera footage and then arrested 35-year-old Melvin E. Sabillon-Enamorado of
Guttenberg, NJ, for theft [2C:20-3A]. Mr. Sabillon-Enamorado was then transported to the Guttenberg Police
Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Sabillon-Enamorado was issued
his complaint summons and then released from police custody. The stroller was retrieved and returned to the victim.
4. On February 21st, 2025, Detectives of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau initiated an
investigation related to numerous reports concerning fraudulent checks being issued and thefts from United States
Postal Service (USPS) mailboxes. As part of this investigation, Detectives identified various trends regarding the locations
of the mailboxes being targeted and reviewed hundreds of hours of video surveillance footage, capturing multiple
incidents of mailbox phishing. On February 28th, 2025, Detectives conducted targeted surveillance in the area of 71st
Street and Park Avenue, in an attempt to further this investigation. During their surveillance, Detective Michael Turner,
Detective Jaber Jaber and Detective Andres Lozano observed a 4-door Mercedes Benz, matching a vehicle used in
various mailbox thefts, reversing into a fire hydrant/no parking zone near 71st Street and Park Avenue. The driver of the
Mercedes Benz was then observed exiting the vehicle, leaving two occupants behind, and manipulating the USPS
mailbox being surveilled. As the result of their criminal investigation and targeted surveillance, Detectives arrested 23-
year-old Hector L. Delacruz-Santana of Bronx, NY; 23-year-old Juan E. Fabian-Valdez of Bronx, NY; and 22-year-old Carlos
J. Payano-Sanchez of Bronx, NY. All three defendants were charged with four (4) counts of theft [2C:20-3A], two (2)
counts of credit card theft [2C:21-6C(1)], criminal attempt/theft [2C:5-1A(1)], and five (5) counts of conspiracy to commit
theft [2C:5-2A(1)]. Upon the completion of their arrest processing, all three defendants were issued their complaint
warrants and lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center. Currently, this investigation remains active and ongoing.
5. On March 1st, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 70th
Street and Jackson Street for a report of a male party attempting to enter a residence via a fire escape. Officers arrived
on the scene and the suspect was gone. After canvassing the surrounding area, Officers located the suspect who
immediately became agitated, assumed a fighting posture, and refused to follow the directions of the Officers on scene.
At that time, Officers attempted to place the male under arrest, at which point the male resisted arrested. After a few
moments attempting to overcome the resistance, Officers successfully arrested 32-year-old Ansel D. Applewhite of
Guttenberg, NJ, for four (4) counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer [2C:12-1B(5)(A)], obstructing the
administration of law [2C:29-1A], and resisting arrest [2C:29-2A(1)]. Mr. Applewhite was then transported to the
Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Applewhite
was issued his complaint warrant and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.
6. On March 2nd, 2025, the Guttenberg Police Department was contacted by the West New York Police Department,
informing our agency that they had a male in their custody, with an active warrant issued by the Guttenberg Police
Department. Shortly after, members of the West New York Police Department transported 20-year-old Mathias J.
Changmachuca of North Bergen, NJ, to the Guttenberg Police Department. Mr. Changmachuca was placed under arrest
and processed for the active warrant. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Changmachuca was released on
his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
7. On March 2nd, 2025, the Guttenberg Police Department was contacted by the Edgewater Police Department,
informing our agency that they had a male in their custody with an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal
Court. Shortly after, Officers of the Edgewater Police Department arrived with 51-year-old Fredrick Salerno Jr. of
Edgewater, NJ. Mr. Salerno Jr. was placed under arrest and then processed for the active warrant. Upon the completion
of his arrest processing, Mr. Salerno Jr. was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with
the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
8. On March 2nd, 2025, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of 71st
Street and Broadway for a report of an assault. During their on-scene investigation, Officers arrested 26-year-old
Christina S. Sanchez of Guttenberg, NJ, after discovering that she had an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg
Municipal Court. Ms. Sanchez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for her arrest processing.
Upon the completion of her arrest processing, Ms. Sanchez was released on her own recognizance, pending her next
court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
