Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
This Saturday at the Nature Center, adults and children 4 and up can meet a live animal and explore their creative and crafty side in Crafty Critters at 2 pm. On Sunday there will be two sessions of Maple Sugaring available at 11:30 am or 1:00 pm where guests can learn how to identify a maple tree and discover the history of syrup making.
Starting next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday children 18 months to 3.5 years and their caregivers can sign up for the spring session of Family Forest School at the Nature Center. Each week you will visit some of the favorite Forest School play spots and engage in developmentally appropriate nature exploration and experimentation. Register at tenaflynaturecenter.org

Tenafly Public Schools - New Student Registration (K-12) for 2025-2026 is now open. Applications are also being accepted through March 14th for the full-day Integrated Preschool Program. The Highwood Ensemble, wind and piano quintet, will be playing an eclectic mix of classic, romantic, jazz, and contemporary music for wind and piano. This is a benefit concert to help those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. Free admission, donations welcome at the door. Friday, March 7 at 7 pm at the Presbyterian Church.
Join in for some nonsensical fun at the Mad Hatter’s tea party! This kid friendly tea party includes: games, riddles, yummy treats and story telling by some of Wonderlands silliest characters. Dig out one of your favorite costumes or put something fun together. No need to buy anything new. It’s nonsensical after all! Ages 3 years to 4th grade, $5 dollars per child payable at the door. Lavish: An Evening of Art & Wine - Kaplen JCC on the Palisades
ACEing Autism returns this spring to the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades for families with autism and volunteers alike. It is a wonderful way for high school teen volunteers to give back and engage in activity while providing hands-on basic skills, structure, socialization and most importantly, fun for participants. The Senior Center is organizing an excursion to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, scheduled for April 29 to 30. For details, please contact the Senior Center. Membership is not required to participate in this event. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the remarkable theater and its performances.
