Washington Man Charged in Connection with Phillipsburg Stabbing

On Friday, February 7, 2025, at approximately 3:00 P.M., members of the Phillipsburg Police Department responded to 360 South Main Street after receiving a report of a male who had been stabbed. During the course of the investigation, Jermaine A. Davis was identified as the suspect. Additionally, it was learned that Davis and the victim knew each other and that a verbal altercation ensued between the two individuals which led to the physical assault. The victim was transported, via ambulance, to St. Luke’s Anderson campus for medical treatment. The cutting instrument used in the assault has not been identified.

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, at approximately 1:00 P.M., Jermain Davis was located by the Phillipsburg Police Department, arrested, processed for the below listed crimes, and lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center.
  1. Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d, a crime of the third degree.
  2. Aggravated Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(2), a crime of the third Degree.

Third degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of 5 years in New Jersey State Prison.

The charges are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police K9 Unit assisted the Phillipsburg Police Department with the investigation.
