5/9/2023 1:59 PM, (Wire Down)
Patrol received multiple reports of a wire down near Becker Avenue and High Street. A large truck became entangled and pulled down live electrical wires. The DPW and PSE&G were dispatched to secure the scene.

5/9/2023 7:01 PM, (Welfare Check)
A caller reported a female party slumped over the steering wheel in the Post Office parking lot. Patrol located the party, a 53-year-old resident, and found her to be healthy, and simply playing "Pokemon Go".

5/10/202 10:54 AM, (Criminal Mischief)
DPW staff reported graffiti on the playground of Carlock Field. Patrol responded, documented the vulgar language painted on a rock-climbing element, and the DPW removed the markings.

5/11/2023 1:17 AM, (Suspicious Occurrence / Commitment)
A transferred phone call from Paramus PD reported a male party fell off a bike and was laying on the lawn of a Central Avenue residence. Patrol arrived on scene and located a 24-year-old Lodi resident passed out on the ground, with a bicycle lying next to him. It was determined that the bicyclist was highly intoxicated and required medical attention.

5/11/2023 7:11 PM, (Welfare Check)
A caller reported being handed a hand-written note from a female at a local hotel. The noted stated that "people were after her." Patrol located the complainant and the note writer. The female appeared in good health and did not request police assistance. The basis for the note was unfounded. She was advised to contact police should she feel endangered at any point.

5/12/2023 7:54 PM, (Breach of peace)
A caller reported a physical fight between two females at a local hotel. Patrol arrived on scene and found the same two females from a previous call were recently involved in mutual combat. It was reported that the female author of the notes now blew cigarette smoke into her face, which led to an assault. The assault was not witnessed by police, neither party requested medical assistance, and civilian complaints were not pursued.

5/12/2023 9:50 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol officer located a vehicle on Rochelle Avenue idling over a sidewalk. The officer approached the vehicle and requested license, registration, and insurance documentation. The female driver refused and drove away. The vehicle was stopped a short distance away and the driver was arrested for obstruction. The arrestee, a 25-year-old female from the Bronx, NY, possessed a suspended driver's license, was issued several motor vehicle citations, charged criminally, and released.

5/13/2023 1:24 AM, (DWI - Arrest)
A patrol officer observed a Land Rover travel through a red light on Rochelle Avenue. A motor vehicle stop ensued and the driver was believed to be intoxicated. The 59-year-old male driver from Teaneck, was arrested, refused a breath test, and was subsequently committed to a local hospital due to a high intoxication level.

5/13/2023 4:40 AM, (Welfare Check)
A caller reported a male in the area of Terrace Avenue was laying on his back and "squawking like a bird." The male, a 22-year-old from New York, exited a vehicle after arguing with his girlfriend. The girlfriend then left the area leaving the male behind. As a result, he apparently began squawking like a bird. The male refused police assistance and medical attention.

5/14/2023 2:39 AM, (DWI - Arrest)
A patrol officer observed a silver Honda cross over marked lanes on Rochelle Avenue. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 26-year-old female from Hackensack. A brief on scene investigation led to her arrest for DWI. A subsequent breath test revealed a reading over twice the legal limit. The arrestee was released to a family member.

5/15/2023 11:12 AM, (Unwanted Party)
A West Passaic Street supermarket reported a male party previously barred from the store, is refusing to leave. The male, a 55-year-old resident, was previously barred due to the practice of attempting to use discarded receipts to return items he did not purchase. The male was advised he would be cited for trespassing should he return, he complied.

5/15/2023 12:06 PM (D/V - Arrest)
A Schlosser Drive resident reported a dispute between spouses. Patrol found injuries to one of the family members. A 41-year-old male was arrested and charged with simple assault. A municipal judge also granted a temporary restraining order.

5/16/2023 7:03 AM (Vehicle Burglaries)
Multiple residents in the area of 53 Central Avenue report attempted vehicle burglaries. Minimal losses were reported and detectives reviewed surrounding surveillance systems.

5/17/2023 1:10 PM (Fraud)
A Rochelle Avenue pharmacy reported a male party completed a transaction with $400 worth of counterfeit currency. The party fled the scene prior to police arrival. Detectives are reviewing images of the actor.

5/17/2023 6:10 PM (Theft)
A resident of Patton Court reported two females exited a Lexus SUV and stole (2) lawn chairs and her daughters' bicycle. The theft occurred on May 13th. The resident was able to provide video footage of the theft.

5/18/2023 12:06 AM, (Arrest - Adult)
A patrol officer observed a vehicle blocking the entrance/exit to a Rochelle Avenue convenience store. As the officer approached the vehicle a large plume of white smoke exited the vehicle. The officer observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and found the driver to be smoking heroin. The driver, a 38-year-old Lodi resident, was arrested and charged with several narcotic offenses.

5/19/2023 12:56 PM (Ordinance Violation)
Several reports of a film crew operating on Howard Avenue were made. Responding patrol located the crew and found that a short film titled "Grilled Cheese" was being filmed. Code Enforcement was contacted and cited the director for not acquiring a permit.

5/19/2023 8:10 PM (Arrest -Adult)
A resident of Howard Avenue reported her ex-husband attempted to take custody of her child. Patrol responded and found a male on scene who possessed an open NCIC warrant out of Elmwood Park. The 32-year-old from Hackensack was arrested, charged with trespassing, and turned over to EPPD.

5/19/2023 8:49 PM (DWI-Arrest)
A female caller reported her wife is driving to a friend's house and is driving drunk. Patrol was unable to locate the vehicle, a Toyota Camry. A short time later the caller called back and stated her wife is on Berdan Street. A patrol officer exited headquarters and located the vehicle. The wife was correct, her spouse was intoxicated. The 36-year-old female resident was arrested and charged with DWI. A breath test revealed an alcohol intoxication level above the legal limit.

5/20/2023 7:23 PM (Theft)
A building manager from a West Passaic Street office building reported a copper theft. Patrol identified stolen copper from an exterior HVAC unit. Detectives were assigned.

5/22/2023 5:22 PM (Attempted Vehicle Theft)
A caller reported items in his vehicle were rummaged through. Responding patrol units reviewed surveillance video and revealed a male actor entered the 2023 Range Rover, and likely attempted to steal it. A getaway vehicle registration was acquired. The suspect vehicle from Newark is under investigation by Township Detectives.

In addition, (25) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (77) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 14-day span.


A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
