11/17/2023 10:56 AM, (Narcotics - Arrest Adult)
A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Route 17 for a vehicle with a heavily tinted front windshield. An on-scene investigation led to the discovery of a prescription for promethazine with a defaced label. The male driver, a 24-year-old from Maywood, was arrested and charged with possession of prescription legend drugs. Suspect was committed to the Bergen County Jail.

11/18/2023 8:23 AM, (Warrant Arrest)
A patrol officer observed a male resident walking on East Passaic Street. The 58- year-old Marinus Street resident was known to possess several outstanding traffic warrants. Officers took the suspect into custody where he posted bail and was released.

11/20/2023 2:37 AM, (Domestic Violence Arrest)
A 911 caller reported a dispute at a Lincoln Drive residence. Responding officers located a resident with visible signs of injury. A male resident was arrested, charged with simple assault, and committed to the Bergen County Jail.

11/20/2023 12:36 PM, (Welfare Check)
Patrol located a male party sleeping behind a Rochelle Avenue business. The sleeping male was found to be a 16-year-old runaway from the Bronx, NY. Officers transported the juvenile to headquarters where he was reunited with his parents.

11/21/2023 8:58 AM, (Weapons Offense)
A patrol officer observed a vehicle turn from a Passaic Street hotel without signaling. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and the driver volunteered that he had a firearm inside the vehicle. Officers safely removed the vehicle occupants and located a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun between the crease of the front seat. A search of the vehicle yeilded the handgun with a high capacity magazine, 3 different forms of illegally possessed prescription narcotics, and a set of brass knuckles. The driver, a 24-year-old male from South Carolina, was charged with possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, possession of prohibited weapons, possession of hollow nose bullets, possession of a high capacity magazine, possession of C.D.S., and possession of a prescription legend drug in excess of 5 does. An out of state warrant for illegal weapon possession was also located. The arrestee was committed to the Bergen County Jail.

11/22/2023 4:29 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A resident reported a road rage incident in front of his residence on Chestnut Street. Two parties argued over signaling a turn and one party threatened to shoot a second male. Responding patrol officers located the actors, both residents of the same street, and negotiated apologies.

11/23/2023 8:47 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A caller reported an attempted carjacking behind a Rochelle Avenue bank. Responding units found the crime to be an attempted vehicle burglary. The victim reported the actor was still on scene, hiding inside a dumpster. Officers approached the trash and located a 28-year-old male inside. The male resident was arrested and charged with attempted burglary and theft.

11/24/2023 9:58 AM, (Narcotics - Arrest Adult)
A motor vehicle stop was conducted on East Passaic Street. The driver did not possess a valid license. An occupant of the vehicle was found to possess an Alprazolam prescription in the name of another. When asked who it belonged to the 36-year-old male from NYC stated he was holding the prescription for a friend whom resides in Florida. The male was arrested and charged accordingly.

11/25/2023 1:44 AM, (Commitment)
A caller reported her juvenile daughter left home without permission. The 17- year-old was entered as a missing person. Five hours later the caller reported the juvenile returned home and was now throwing bricks at a rear window. Officers responded and assisted with a commitment to a local hospital.

11/25/2023 1:49 PM, (Domestic Violence - Arrest)
A caller reported a dispute between household members on Berdan Street. Responding officers were shown an interior surveillance video which recorded an assault. A 40-year-old male occupant was arrested and charged with simple assault. He was committed to the Bergen County Jail.

11/28/2023 7:14 AM, (Suspicious Occurrence)
A caller reported a sticky substance on the exterior mailbox of the Post Office on Rochelle Avenue. Officers determined an attempted theft of mail occurred. Detectives reviewed surveillance from the area and the Postal Inspector was notified.

11/29/2023 12:53 PM, (Arrest-Adult(s))
A patrol officer observed numerous motor vehicle violations on Essex Street. The vehicle turned down the dead end of Lexington Avenue and a stop ensued. An on-scene investigation revealed $2,160 in counterfeit currency. A 37-year-old male from Trenton and a 27-year-old female from Lawrenceville were arrested and charged with counterfeiting.

11/30/2023 12:38 AM, (Commitment- Adult)
A 911 caller reported the odor of smoke in a Terrace Avenue residential complex. Responding officers located a female who put her shoe in the oven. The fire department vented the unit, removed the well-done shoe, and turned off the oven. The 35-year-old female resident was committed pending an evaluation.

11/30/2023 1:39 PM (Commitment)
An Essex Street sandwich shop reported a burglary and theft occurred the previous evening. Detectives determined a floor safe was targeted and an investigation is ongoing.

In addition, (16) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (52) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 14-day span.


A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
