11/1/2024 12:32 PM, (Soliciting)
A caller reported a male party selling meat out of a vehicle. Patrol located a 23- year-old male on West Oldis Street. The party stated he stopped for a delivery and decided to offer a pedestrian an order of poultry. Officers advised the Garnerville, NY resident of the solicitors permit requirement and dispersed him from the scene.

11/1/2024 5:41 PM, (Suspicious Occurrence)
A caller reported a distressed elderly female in a long gown waving people down on Oldis Street. Patrol located a familiar resident from Rochelle Avenue and learned the 85-year-old female was out for a walk, all reported in order.

11/2/2024 10:36 AM (Fraud)
A walk-in complainant reported purchasing a $500 gift card form a Rochelle Avenue pharmacy and the card revealed a $0 balance. Detectives learned that a suspect placed a label over the cards bar code thus loading funds on to a different card/account. The investigation is ongoing.

11/2/2024 1:35 PM, (Theft)
A patron of a West Passaic Street hotel reported the theft of his $75,000 Audemars Piguet watch. The 34-year-old Nutley resident reported leaving the watch in an unlocked safe and returning to an empty safe. Detectives reviewed surveillance footage only to be told the watch was located weeks later.

11/2/2024 10:35 PM, (Dispersal)
Multiple callers reported a large party at the dead end of Terrace Avenue. Responding units located 200-250 juveniles in a backyard. Maywood PD and the Bergen County Sheriff's were summoned to disperse the crowd. After approximately 2 hours, the street was cleared and a 49-year-old female Terrace Ave. resident was charged with maintaining a nuisance and making her property available for minors to consume alcohol.

11/3/2024 1:08 PM, (Unwanted Person)
A West Passaic Street hotel reported an intoxicated male sleeping in the lobby. Patrol located a 25-year-old male from Lodi, asleep on a couch. A rideshare company was summoned and he left without further conflict.

11/3/2024 7:30 PM, (Arrest - Adult / Commitment)
A caller reported his wife was entrenched in a mental health crisis. Responding units spoke with the female and summoned mental health counselors. During the course of the call, the patient defecated and rubbed feces on the officers. A 62- year-old female resident was eventually subdued and committed to a local hospital. Charges for throwing bodily fluids at an officer were issued.

11/4/2024 8:05 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
Teaneck Police reported a 54-year-old female in their custody. The female possessed an NCIC warrant out of Rochelle Park for theft. Englewood officers delivered the arrestee to Rochelle Park, where she was fingerprinted, photographed, and committed to the Bergen County Jail.

11/5/2024 2:22 PM, (Breach of Peace)
A complainant responded to headquarters to report a dispute he had with an employee of a Passaic Street supermarket. A 47-year-old male resident reported reaching over an employee to retrieve an item and the employee "smacked his arm". The incident was reported to store management and the civilian complaint process was explained.

11/5/2024 11:45 PM, (Suspicious Occurrence)
The custodian of a Route 17 office building reported a homeless male party trespassing. The male was reported to be barefoot and sleeping in vacant offices. Patrol recovered property and an identification belonging to a 39-year-old male from Teaneck. The male left prior to police arrival, extra checks were conducted.

11/7/2024 7:24 AM, (Auto Theft / Arrest - Adult)
A customer of a West Passaic Street dry cleaners left his vehicle running with the key fob inside. He returned to an empty parking space. The vehicle was entered as stolen and approximately 45 minutes later River Edge Police reported the vehicle was located with a male inside. Police matched the driver to the thief on surveillance video. The vehicle was retuned to its owner and a 38-year-old Paterson resident was charged with auto theft.

11/8/2024 4:48 AM, (Suspicious Person)
An employee of a Passaic Street office building reported a male party sleeping in between the sliding doors. Responding officers located the 31-year-old male in question, sitting on an exterior bench. The male was checked for warrants and advised of the penalties for trespassing. The male, originally hailing from Edgewater, was dispersed from the area.

11/8/2024 12:22 PM, (Property Damage)
The DPW foreman reported a resident of A-Harvey Avenue removed a recently planted Township tree and placed it in a trash can. Patrol spoke with the resident who stated he would voice his desire to avoid a tree planting at a Township Committee meeting. Warning issued for ordinance violation.

11/8/2024 8:48 PM, (DWI - Arrest)
A caller reported a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of an Essex Street convenience store. Responding officers observed that one vehicle back into another. In speaking with a 46-year-old female driver from Bogota, the odor of the flavorings of an alcoholic beverage were detected. The driver failed field sobriety tests, was arrested, and charged with DWI.

11/9/2024 3:18 AM, (DWI - Arrest)
A patrol officer observed a New York registered Toyota Prius parked in the middle of Lotz Lane. The driver was asleep with the seat reclined, while the vehicle obstructed traffic. The driver was awoken, removed from the vehicle, and instructed to perform sobriety tests, which he failed. A 37-year-old male from Brooklyn was charged with DUI and refusal to submit breath samples.

11/11/2024 7:43 AM, (Arrest - Juvenile)
A mother from Colling Avenue reported her 16-year-old son was acting irrationally, punching walls and screaming. As officers attempted to speak with the juvenile, he pushed an officer and attempted to flee. Officers subdued the juvenile and committed him to a local facility. Juvenile charges for assault on an officer were submitted.

11/11/2024 8:49 AM, (Shoplifting)
An employee of a Rochelle Avenue pharmacy reported a shoplifting that occurred two days prior. While conducting an inventory search, the employee noticed a large number of cosmetics missing. Surveillance revealed a male actor walked off with in excess of $4,000 in merchandise. Detectives were assigned.

11/12/2024 6:00 PM, (Fraud)
A second citizen reported she purchased a gift card from a Rochelle Avenue pharmacy and the card had a zero balance. The victim realized the access code was tampered with. Detectives are attempting to connect several reports together.

11/12/2024 6:44 PM, (Lost Property)
A resident of Ward Street reported her son lost a gold chain. The 13-year-old juvenile was playing basketball at Midland School and removed his chain valued at almost $1,300.00. A week later he realized the chain was missing. Requests were made to review school security cameras.

11/12/2024 7:55 PM, (Arrest -Adult)
A patrol officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rochelle Avenue. The driver, a 42-year-old male from Englewood, was found to have an open child support warrant from the Passaic County Sheriff's Office. The subject was arrested and turned over to Passaic County Sheriffs.

11/12/2024 9:50 PM, (Arrest - Adult)
A caller reported that unknown people were banging on his door at a Passaic Street hotel. The complainant believed the suspects possessed guns. Responding officers found the door bangers to be hotel staff, because the male failed to check out. In speaking with the caller, he was found to possess (9) baggies of suspected heroin. A 36-year-old male from Saddle Brook was charged with C.D.S. possession and voluntarily committed to a medical facility.

11/13/2024 9:31 AM, (Breach of Peace)
An Officer was flagged down by a transit bus driver. The driver stated he was dealing with a difficult passenger. The passenger stated that he missed his stop. Police negotiated a compromise and both parties continued on their route.

11/15/2024 3:30 AM, (Commitment)
A patrol officer observed a pickup truck parked on the lawn of a Durand Place residence. The vehicle was running and the interior light was illuminated. The officer located a male sleeping inside, who, once awakened, stated he was waiting for his former neighbor to let him inside the residence. A computer check revealed the male party, aged 36 from Toms River, was an endangered missing person. An ambulance was summoned and the male was committed to a local facility.

In addition, (15) suspicious persons/vehicles were vetted and (80) motor vehicle stops were conducted in a 16-day span.


A charge is not a conviction. All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.
