Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 21-year-old ERICK NUNEZ of Hackensack, NJ on charges of luring, lewdness, and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Lodi Police Department under the direction of Chief Donald Scorzetti.
On Saturday, February 15, 2025, the Lodi Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged luring of a juvenile. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lodi Police Department revealed that ERICK NUNEZ engaged with a child under the age of 16 on “Monkey,” a social media and video chat platform, as well as Instagram, a popular social media application. Subsequently, NUNEZ made arrangements to meet the child in Lodi, NJ. NUNEZ picked the child up in his vehicle, committed an act of lewdness, and endangered the child.
As a result of the investigation, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, ERICK NUNEZ was arrested in Lodi, NJ and charged with second-degree luring, N.J.S.A. 2C:13-6a; third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1); and lewdness, a disorderly persons offense, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-4a. NUNEZ was ordered released, pending further action by the Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Lodi Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
