Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 23-year-old GERALD A. PICADO of Fair Lawn, NJ on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Oradell Police Department under the direction of Chief William Wicker.
On Friday, January 17, 2025, the Oradell Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in the past. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Oradell Police Department revealed that GERALD A. PICADO sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile on multiple occasions between April 2022 and November 2023 at locations in Oradell, NJ and Wayne, NJ.
As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, GERALD A. PICADO was arrested in Paramus, NJ and charged with six counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(2)(c); three counts of second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(3)(c); two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3a; four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A 2C:24-4a; and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b. PICADO was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Oradell Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
