Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
The DPW and the Recycling Center are closed Monday, February 17 for the President's Day holiday. There is no residential recycling scheduled, but refuse on the East side of town will be picked up as scheduled.
Friendly Reminder: The Annual Alarm Renewal deadline has passed. Late notices have been mailed to all outstanding residents and business owners with alarm systems. Please send payment as soon as possible to avoid additional late charges.
Recky's Camps and Teen Camp registration for residents begins this Saturday, February 15. Don't miss out on the Pool Membership/Recky's & Teen Camp discount bundle! Register online at Community Pass for a Municipal Pool Membership and receive a discount on Recky's or Teen Camp Registration. This promotion opens February 15 and closes February 28.
The Early-bird discount to join the Tenafly Municipal Pool ends on February 28. Only 2 weeks left! Free children's group swim lessons for members; fun summer swim team for ages 5-17; and special events throughout the summer. Initial renovation plans include the bathroom and repainting the pool. This Sunday at 11:30 am or 1:00 pm the Nature Center welcomes all ages to sign up and learn about creating syrup from maple trees. Learn how to identify a maple tree and discover the history of syrup making and how technology has changed the way we gather sap over the centuries. Come hear world class violinist, Tenafly’s own Elli Choi lead a rare and special Master Class on Tuesday, February 18 at 7 pm at the Presbyterian Church. Elli was recently awarded third prize at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels, and winner of the World Monaco Violin Competition at age 15. Lavish: An Evening of Art & Wine - Kaplen JCC on the Palisades
ACEing Autism returns this spring to the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades for families with autism and volunteers alike. It is a wonderful way for high school teen volunteers to give back and engage in activity while providing hands-on basic skills, structure, socialization and most importantly, fun for participants.
