The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has arrested an East Orange man following a death investigation in Guttenberg.
On Saturday, November 23, 2024, shortly after 10 p.m., the Guttenberg Police Department was notified of two unresponsive males inside a residence at 209 71st Street. The males – later identified as Justo Bory, 87, and Ricardo Bory, 58, both of Guttenberg – were pronounced dead at the scene. During the initial response, the Guttenberg Police Department arrested Lamont Cole, 40, of East Orange, for interfering with the investigation. Cole has been detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility since the arrest.
Post-mortem examinations were performed on both males. On Monday, December 2, 2024, the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office issued a report pertaining to Justo Bory that determined the Cause of Death to be Compression of the Neck and the Manner to be Homicide. Cole was arrested at the Hudson County Correctional Facility on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, and charged with one count of Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1)/(2). The post-mortem report pertaining to Ricardo Bory is pending.
