The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a man found in the Hackensack River on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a body floating underneath the Pulaski Skyway. Responding officers located a male — later identified as Bryan Linington, 49, of Cliffwood — floating in the water. He was removed from the water by the Jersey City Fire Department and was pronounced dead at approximately 7:30 p.m.

At this stage of the investigation, the death does not appear to be suspicious. The Cause and Manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this matter.
