The Secaucus Police Department made twenty four arrests for prostitution related offenses throughout 2024. In September 2024, the Secaucus Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit received information that a “courier” was picking up money derived from prostitution and dispersing it to other participants who are promoting the prostitution ring.

During a five months long investigation, Detectives from the Secaucus Police Anti-Crime employed surveillance along with other investigative methods and identified the “courier,” as Roldan R. Jiimenez-Rodriguez, 41, of Paterson. He was surveilled to various hotels/motels in Secaucus along with others in Bergen and Middlesex Counties. Roldan R. Jiimenez-Rodriguez would meet with prostitutes at the hotels/motels to collect money from them and then deposit the illegal gains into a bank in Paterson. Roldan R. Jiimenez-Rodriguez would then electronically disburse the funds. It is estimated that Roldan R. Jiimenez-Rodriguez picked up and laundered thousands of dollars per month.

On January 30, 2025 at 5:43 P.M, Roldan R. Jiimenez-Rodriguez was arrested in Newark by members of the Secaucus Police Ant-Crime Unit, under the supervision of Detective Sergeant Matthew Ford. Roldan R. Jiimenez-Rodriguez is charged with Money Laundering [2C:21-25A], Promoting Prositution [2C:34-1b(2)] and Conspiracy to Commit Money Laundering [2C:5-2/2C:21-25A]. He was released, pending his appearance in Court.

“The Anti-Crime Unit is committed to ridding our hotels of nefarious activity to enhance the quality of life of the visitors who travel to Secaucus,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “The dedication to this endeavor by the members of the Anti-Crime Unit is unparalleled and I am proud of their investigative work.”

These charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may follow.
