Sussex County Launches Seed Saving Library Program

The Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Senior Services is happy to announce the Seed Saving Library Program. Sussex County residents will have the opportunity to grow delicious, healthy food and connect with fellow gardeners.

The Sussex County Seed Saving Library is a collaborative effort between Certified Master Gardeners, the Sussex County Library System and the Sussex County Division of Senior Services. This program, sponsored by the Sussex County Board of County Commissioners, offers the following free of charge to Sussex County residents:

Free Seeds:
You will receive free fruit, vegetable, herb and flower seeds from trusted seed companies and locally grown gardens.

Seed Saving Workshops:
You will learn the basics of seed saving and contribute to our collection.

Gardening Resources:
You can access books, online resources, and advice from the Certified Gardeners helpline.

Community connection:
You can meet fellow gardeners, share tips, and celebrate the joy of growing!

Reap the benefits of the Sussex County Library System by saving money, promoting biodiversity, connecting with the gardening community, and enjoying fresh, delicious food!
