Inclement Weather Notice - State of Emergency

Governor Murphy has declared a State of Emergency in effect Sunday, January 19, 2025. Snow is expected to begin today between 12:00pm – 3:00pm with heavy snow from 5 to 8pm. Accumulation of 3-6” is possible by midnight. Post-storm conditions with very low temperatures and freezing pavements overnight through Wednesday.

There is no police approved parking tonight, Sunday, January 19, 2025, due to the inclement weather. If you are already approved for multiple nights, you are still required to move your vehicle, or you may receive a summons. There is no parking on Borough streets when the streets are covered in snow.

NJ state law requires property owners to clear snow from fire hydrants within 24 hours after a snowstorm. If you have a fire hydrant on your property, please clear a path from the fire hydrant to the street plus a three-foot radius around the fire hydrant that is on or adjacent to your property. Failure to comply may result in fines up to $75.00.

Please shovel the full width of your sidewalk area including your driveway apron. Shoveling must be done within twenty-four (24) hours after the snow has stopped. Do not throw snow into the street.

Residents are expected to remove portable basketball hoops from the Borough's right of way to allow DPW plows safe passage.

Remember to remove all ice and snow from your vehicle before driving, especially from the hood, windows, and roof. This is NJ state law.
