1. On January 2, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Sgt. William Collins, Detectives Fabian Quinones and Connor Milne, and Police Officer Nicholas Protopapadakis were on patrol when they witnessed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Newark and Grand Streets. They pulled the vehicle over on the 500 block of Observer Highway, but after briefly stopping, the vehicle began to drive away. Sgt. Collins re-activated the emergency sirens, causing the vehicle to stop briefly, before it pulled away again. After stopping once more, the patrol car was pulled in front of the suspect vehicle, which began to move again, hitting the passenger side of the patrol car. The driver further accelerated, pushed past the patrol car, drove onto the sidewalk, hit a traffic sign, and continued to ignore orders to stop the vehicle until Sgt. Collins walked up to the car, removed the driver, and turned the car off. 35-year-old Alimaye Mahamat of Jersey City, was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was charged with eluding officers and aggravated assault on police. He was also issued a summons for failing to stop at a stop sign and ultimately released from custody.

2. On January 3, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Police Officers Remy Garcia-Marte, Alyssa Rivera, and John Lawton responded to the 500 block of Marshall Drive on reports of a man screaming and knocking on doors inside a residential building on Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) property. Officers found a man who matched the description of the actor, later identified as 45-year-old Gregory Almonte of North Bergen, on the seventh-floor landing. Since he did not live in the building, he was arrested for defiant trespassing. It was discovered he had a warrant out of Newark. Almonte was given a summons and released from custody.

3. On January 3, 2025, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Police Officer Nicholas Losurdo was on patrol when he saw a car parked illegally in a lane, making it difficult for other cars to pass safely on the 100 block of Sinatra Drive. Officer Losurdo used his lights and sirens in an attempt to have the car move. When the car did not move, the officer pulled up next to it and observed a woman who appeared to be unconscious in the driver’s seat. He woke her up and observed her eyes to be glossy and her speech to be slurred. When asked for her information, she refused and became aggressive. Police Officers Roberto Cuevas and Alyssa Rivera arrived on the scene to assist and to conduct a standardized field sobriety test, which the woman refused to finish. She was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. As officers tried to place her in a patrol car, she became tense and pushed herself away from the vehicle. The woman was identified as 31-year-old Eileny Frias of West New York, and it was learned due to a prior incident, she can only drive a vehicle with an ignition interlock (breathalyzer). Frias was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. On the way into the building, she became agitated and pulled away from the officers. She was processed on charges of driving while intoxicated, refusal to provide breath samples, and reckless driving. She was also issued summons for parking in a prohibited area and obstructing the flow of traffic. As per John’s Law, she was released into the custody of a responsible party. The owner of the vehicle was also issued a summons for providing a vehicle to a person who is required to use an interlock to drive.

4. On January 3, 2025, at approximately 11:55 p.m., Police Officers Nicholas Losurdo and Anthony Rutkowski responded to Acme, 614 Clinton St., on reports of a known shoplifter in the store. Upon arrival they found a man who matched the description in the parking lot, and he was identified as 47-year-old Michael Fortune of Jersey City, who was wanted for multiple shopliftings in the liquor department the store on December 11, 2024, December 13, 2024, December 14, 2024, and December 30, 2024. After being arrested on Jan. 3, Fortune was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he refused to be fingerprinted and photographed. He was further charged with refusal and was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

5. On January 4, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Valentino Salgado were on patrol, when they observed three men in a fight on the 50 block of Washington Street. They approached the men, broke up the fight, and arrested all three, later identified as 27- year-old Jeffrey Barsolona of Bayonne, 26-year-old Mitchell Grogan of Point Pleasant, and 25- year-old Connor McCoy of Lafayette. They were all transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with disorderly conduct. All three were released with a summons.

6. On January 4, 2025, at approximately 4:10 a.m., Police Officers Ronald Kibitlewski and Shyenna Vega were conducting a building sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building on the 400 block of Marshall Drive, when they saw two people on the top floor stairwell. Lt. Edward Sellick and Police Officers Alexander Miller and Aidan Gonzalez arrived on the scene to assist. The two individuals were identified as 33-year-old Shaddick Quintana of Hoboken, and 43-year-old Luis Rosario of Hoboken. It was determined neither of them lived there, nor could they state a lawful purpose for being in the building. Both were issued a summons for defiant trespassing and were released from custody when they left the building.

7. On January 4, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Police Officer Valentino Salgado was on patrol at Church Square Park, 400 Garden St., when he was flagged down by people in the dog run along Willow Avenue. They pointed out a woman who the officer observed causing a disturbance by arguing with multiple people in the park. When the officer attempted to calm the situation by asking the woman to leave the area, she refused and continued to engage in disruptive behavior. When the officer attempted to steer her away, she pointed her hand in the shape of a firearm and said “pow,” implying a threat of violence. The woman, later identified as 38-year-old Akinkunle Omalayo of Hoboken, was placed under arrest for making terroristic threats. Police Officer Ramon Estrella arrived on the scene to assist. Omalayo was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where it was learned she had an existing warrant for harassment out of Hoboken. She was processed on charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility

8. On January 5, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., Police Officers Trevor Thomas and Arturo Gonzalez responded to a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building on the 600 block of Sixth Street on reports of a man possibly overdosing in the common area. The officers located a man, later identified as 62-year-old Nelson Perez of Hoboken, trying to get inside an apartment on the first floor and acting irrationally. It was discovered he was not a resident of the HHA and was arrested for defiant trespassing. He was processed and released on a summons.

9. On January 6, 2025, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Police Officers Harry Montalvo, Frank Lombardo, Tyrone Huggins, and Teddy Santiago responded to Lululemon, 313 Washington St., on reports of a shoplifting where the actor had already left the scene and was last seen heading east on Third Street. Officers located a man who fit the description of the actor and stopped him on the 50 block of Newark Street. He was identified as 40-year-old Kyle Campbell of West New York. An on-scene investigation located multiple shirts with tags still on them, inside his jacket. Campbell was arrested for shoplifting. A search incident to arrest, found Campbell to be in possession of a glass cylindrical pipe burnt on both ends and an empty hypodermic needle. Police Officers Elias Colon and Aidan Gonzalez arrived on the scene to assist. It was discovered that Campbell had taken approximately $528 worth of clothing. Campbell was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where it was discovered he had a warrant out of West New York. He was further charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Center.

10. On January 6, 2025, at approximately 12:35 p.m., Police Officer Daniel Barron and Tyrone Huggins responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting. When they arrived, they were told the actor had already left and was headed toward the Ninth Street Light Rail Station. Sgt. James Barbro and Police Officers Eliaz Colon and Arturo Gonzalez arrived to assist. Officers located a woman who fit the description of the actor, and she was identified as 51-year-old Zary Picart of Jersey City. Further investigation revealed Picart was an employee of ShopRite who on at least four recent dates, left her shift with items she didn’t pay for, taking at least $505 in merchandise between those four days. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with four counts of shoplifting. She was processed, given a summons, and released from custody.

11. On January 7, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Sgt. Adam Colon and Police Officer Brandon Cappelluti were conducting a building sweep of a Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) building on the 500 block of Marshall Drive when they encountered a man sleeping in a stairwell on the seventh floor. He was identified as 45-year-old Michael Almonte of North Bergen, and it was determined he was not a resident. Almonte was issued a summons for defiant trespassing and released from custody and provided assistance in getting to a warming center for the night.

12. On January 8, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Police Officers Frank Losurdo and Anish Bhisey observed a vehicle double parked on the 500 block of Marshall Drive. A search of the license plate revealed there was an active traffic warrant. The driver was identified as 24-year-old Nathaniel Suber of Jersey City, and it was confirmed he was the owner of the car. He was processed and released with a new court date.
