1. On October 21st, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division
arrested 31-year-old Jose A. Aquino-Perez of Jersey City, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Aquino-Perez
was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest
processing, he was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released into the custody of a
responsible adult.
2. On October 21st, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a residence on
the 400 block of 68th Street after receiving a report of a trespasser. During their on-scene investigation, officers arrested
42-year-old Crispin P. Vicente-Esquit of Guttenberg, NJ, for criminal trespass [2C:18-3A]. Mr. Vicente-Esquit was then
transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest
processing, Mr. Vicente-Esquit was issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.
3. On October 21st, 2024, the Guttenberg Police Department was contacted by the Leonia Police Department, informing
us that they had a male in their custody with an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Officers from
the Guttenberg Police Department responded to Leonia Police Headquarters, where they arrested 22-year-old Andre J.
Paz-Salazar of Elizabeth, NJ. Mr. Paz-Salazar was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest
processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, he was released on his own recognizance, pending his next
court appearance with the Guttenberg Municipal Court.
4. On October 24th, 2024, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of
Bergenline Avenue and 68th Street after receiving a report of a male attempting to gain entry into various buildings.
During their on-scene investigation, officers located the male. As the result of their investigation, 28-year-old Alberto F.
Ramirez of West New York, NJ, was placed under arrest for attempting to commit burglary [2C:5-1/2C:18-2]. Mr.
Ramirez was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of
his arrest processing, Mr. Ramirez was issued his complaint summons and then released from police custody.
5. On October 27th, 2024, while addressing a parking violation near the intersection of John F. Kennedy Boulevard East
and 69th Street, officers arrested 27-year-old Lazaro M. Urquiaga of West New York, NJ, after discovering that he was in
possession of a rifle without possessing a firearms identification card. Mr. Urquiaga was then transported to the
Guttenberg Police Department, where he was charged with transporting the rifle without being licensed to do so [2C:39-
9D] and possessing the rifle without a firearms identification card [2C:39-5C(1)]. Upon the completion of his arrest
processing, Mr. Urquiaga was issued his complaint summons and then released from police custody.
The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven
guilty in a court of law.
