1. On October 7th, 2024, while on patrol, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division recognized 29- year-old Marvin L. Sitic-Siquin of Guttenberg, NJ, who had an active warrant issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Mr. Sitic-Siquin was arrested and then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Sitic-Siquin was released on his own recognizance, pending his next court appearance with the Guttenberg Police Department.

2. On October 8th, 2024, the Westwood Police Department contacted the Guttenberg Police Department, informing our agency that they had a male in their custody who had an active warrant, issued by the Guttenberg Municipal Court. Shortly after, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrived at the Westwood Police Department, where they arrested 39-year-old Murat Aslan of Cliffside Park, NJ. Mr. Aslan was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, he was released from police custody.

3. On October 10th, 2024, a female walked into the Guttenberg Police Department to report her 15-year-old daughter missing. During the investigation, it was found that on October 7th, 2024, the juvenile’s mother walked into their home and found her daughter lying naked on a couch with a male, who she believed was her daughter’s friend. Following a verbal dispute, the male and juvenile left the home and her mother had no idea where they went. Her daughter did not possess a cell-phone, there was no method of getting in contact with her, and she had not returned for a few days. However, the juvenile’s mother possessed the phone number of the male, which she provided during the investigation. After receiving this information, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division were able to ping the male’s cell-phone to an industrial area in Sayreville, NJ. In the surrounding area, there were multiple motels where the juvenile and male could have been staying. With the assistance of the Sayreville Police Department, the juvenile and male were located and then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department. As the result of this investigation, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 20-year-old Mario Astudillo-Mendieta of Ecuador for endangering the welfare of a child [2C:24-4A(1)] and criminal sexual contact [2C:14-3B]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Astudillo-Mendieta was issued his complaint warrant and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.

4. On October 11th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 44-year-old Julio A. Hernandez-Rubio of North Bergen, NJ, for driving while intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Hernandez-Rubio was then transported to the Guttenberg Police Department for his arrest processing. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Hernandez-Rubio was issued numerous summonses for traffic violations and then released to the care of staff from the Palisades Medical Center.

5. On October 12th, 2024, during a motor vehicle stop, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested 49-year-old Jose A. Santiago of Hoboken, NJ, after he initially identified himself as “Kevin Perez”. During their investigation, it was confirmed that Mr. Santiago had provided a false name and date of birth to officers. Mr. Santiago was transported to the Guttenberg Police Department, where he was charged with hindering his own apprehension [2C:29-3B]. Upon the completion of his arrest processing, Mr. Santiago was issued his complaint summons, numerous summonses for traffic violations, then released from police custody.


The charges above are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
