Peer Support Group for Veterans

(Augusta, NJ) The Sussex County Board of County Commissioners is offering a Peer Support Group for all Sussex County veterans. Are you a military veteran? Do you feel isolated? Are you seeking support to manage the stress you may be feeling as a veteran? This support group will provide information about what programs and services are available to veterans, how to access these services and provide referrals as necessary. In this group, you can relax, have a cup of coffee, play a game or just chat.

Peer support groups provide a structured environment where veterans can share their experiences, insights, and coping strategies. They can learn from each other, find validation for their feelings, and gain different perspectives on managing their challenges. When you connect with other people it can help you feel better.

This support group will meet in-person in the first floor conference room at the Sussex County Administrative Center in Newton from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is scheduled to occur on October 23, 2024.

For more information and to register, please call the Sussex County Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555, ext. 1135 or email Rgerow@sussex.nj.us. This program is funded and administered by the Sussex County Board of County Commissioners.
