One Teen Killed and One Teen Injured While Riding a Motor Scooter

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that on October 2, 2024, at approximately 7:55 p.m., the Paterson Police Department received information that two males, Angelvl Javier-Reynos, 18-years-old from Paterson, and Brailin Dominguez, 18-years-old from Paterson, were riding a motor scooter in the area of 9th Avenue and Madison Avenue when they were involved in a motor-vehicle collision with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. One of the males, Mr. Javier-Reynos, was subsequently pronounced deceased. The second male, Mr. Dominguez, was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment of non-fatal injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee had valid driving credentials, remained on scene, and was not injured in the collision.

This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
