1. On September 4, 2024, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Police Officers Robert Cuevas, Brandon Fitzgibbons, Carmen Benitez, and Ronald Kibitlewski responded to Blue Eyes Cafe, 525 Sinatra Dr., on reports of an attempted assault. Police Officer Joseph DiMartino arrived to assist. An on-scene investigation revealed that an individual, later identified as 31-year-old Debby Torres who has no known address, threw someone else's property on the ground, yelled at the victim, and pushed him down while forcibly taking an umbrella from his hands. Torres was arrested and charged with robbery. During transport to Hoboken Police Headquarters by Sgt. Roary Miller and Police Officers Jonathan Figueroa and Marc Lombardi, Torres refused to listen to commands, threatened to throw her shoe at them, started to scream and pull her arms, and at one point kicked officers in the leg. She was additionally charged with aggravated assault on police officers and resisting arrest. She was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

2. On September 5, 2024, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Shawn Sodora responded to the 1400 block of Garden Street on reports of an individual sleeping inside the hallways of a residential building. When they arrived, they found the person, later identified as 48-year-old Zailong Jin with no known address, sleeping behind a door. An on-scene investigation revealed Jin regularly trespasses in the same building. When he was asked to stand up, he refused and continued to be defiant toward officers who informed him he could not be in the building. When he was told he was being arrested, he refused to stand up and pulled his arms away and tensed up, to avoid being handcuffed. He was eventually placed under arrest. Police Officers Teddy Santiago and Alexander Miller arrived on the scene to assist. Jin was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with defiant trespassing and resisting arrest. He was processed and released with a summons.

3. On September 5, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Sgt. Roary Miller and Police Officer Kyle Seper responded to the 300 block of 13th Street on reports of two people involved in a dispute, with one possibly in possession of a knife. When they arrived, they identified the person believed to have the knife as 40-year-old Derrick Moore of Hoboken. Moore continued to yell and attempt to engage with the other person. He was handcuffed for safety reasons. Sgt. Dennis Figueroa Jr., and Police Officers Harry Montalvo and Nicholas Protopapadakis arrived on the scene to assist. An on-scene investigation revealed Moore engaged in a verbal altercation with the other individual, which became physical, during which the other person was injured. Moore was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest revealed a knife with a 3¼ inch blade. Officers also found a clear bag containing six tablets believed to be CDS ecstasy. Moore was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with making terroristic threats, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapons, possession of CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with a summons.

4. On September 6, 2024, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and Christopher Soto were patrolling the 600 block of Sixth Street and observed an individual, on Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) property who they knew did not live there. They approached the man, later identified as 29-year-old Angel Landa-Vasquez, of Hoboken. He was given a summons for defiant trespassing and released from custody.

5. On September 7, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Rutkowski and Marvin DeJesus were patrolling on the 300 block of Washington Street when they observed a man who appeared intoxicated walk up to a large decorative flowerpot, pull out the flowers, and through the pot to the ground before dragging it several feet. When officers activated their lights and sirens, the actor, later identified as 25-year-old Justin Monaco of Somers, NY, started to run away. Officers caught up to him quickly and he was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and released from the scene after Monaco and his friends fixed the flowerpot, which was not damaged.

6. On September 8, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Police Officers Christopher Barral, Frank Lombardo, Nasir Wiley, and Damian Bates responded to Dino & Harry’s, 163 14th St., on a report of a dispute. When they arrived, they saw one individual, later identified as 60-year-old John Bennett of New York City, standing up against the fence with several other males around him. Bennett began to yell obscenities at employees. An on-scene investigation revealed Bennett ate a meal at the restaurant and left without paying his bill of approximately $141. He was confronted and stopped by patrons outside, who called the police. When Bennett did try to pay the bill, the credit card was denied. He was charged with theft of services and released with a summons.

7. On September 10, 2024, at approximately 9:05 a.m., Police Officers Daniel Barron and Jonathan Figueroa responded to the 1000 block of Jefferson Street, on reports of a non-resident, believed to be homeless, sleeping on the seventh-floor rooftop of a residential building. Officers located the man, identified as 57-year-old David Lorente of North Bergen. Sgt. Saverio Binetti arrived to assist. It was discovered Lorente had an active warrant out of Hoboken for trespassing. He was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was issued a summons for defiant trespassing and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

8. On September 10, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Sgt. William Collins and Police Officers Valentino Salgado, Ronald Kibitlewski, Carmen Benitez and Alyssa Rivera responded to the 1400 block of Garden Street on reports of an individual laying down in an alleyway. Officers located a person who fit the description of the actor on the 200 block of 14th Street, and he was identified as 51-year-old Michael Dispoto of Bayonne. Dispoto had an outstanding warrant out of the Hudson County Sheriff's Department. He was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

9. On September 11, 2024, at approximately 5:35 p.m., Police Officers Shyenna Vega and Marl Mooreman responded to Pier A Park, 100 Sinatra Drive, on reports that someone purposefully struck a goose with an e-bike. They found a person who fit a description of the individual on the e-bike and identified him as 30-year-old Andrew Mullin of Hoboken. Lt. David Olivera arrived on the scene to assist. Mullin was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was charged with cruelty to animals and issued a complaint summons for riding an e-bike on a walkway. Mullins was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

10. On September 11, 2024, at approximately 8:10 p.m. Police Officers Jaydan Gonzalez and Remy Garcia-Marte were on walking patrol on the 300 block of Jackson Street, when they heard a commotion nearby. They approached and observed a verbal dispute taking place on Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) property, involving two men they identified as 24-year-old Mickey Mendez of Jersey City and 29-year-old Darnel Walker of Hoboken. Officers observed the two men get into a car but stopped them from leaving when a witness indicated there may be a firearm in the vehicle. Sgt. Adam Colon, Lt. David Olivera, and Police Officers Bianca Arroyo, Rose Kanan, Jason Montalvo, John Rodriguez, Marc Lombardi, Christopher Barral, Matthew Bonanno, and Ramon Estrella arrived on the scene to assist. While officers were conducting an on-scene investigation, Mendez began walking away, ignoring orders to stay. It was learned he was not a resident of HHA, and he was placed under arrest for defiant trespassing and obstruction of justice. During the arrest, Mendez resisted by tensing up and flailing his arms and his body, causing multiple officers to fall on the grass. He also bit one of the officers on the arm and once in handcuffs, he spit, hitting one officer in the eye. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, throwing bodily fluids, obstruction, and defiant trespassing. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. Walker was also arrested for defiant trespassing and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. It was discovered he had a warrant out of Jersey City. He was released from custody with a summons. The witness statements regarding firearms remain under investigation.
