Newark Man Arrested for DUI After Harrison Car Crash

On September 2, 2024, at approximately 2:42 AM, Harrison Police units were dispatched to Frank E Rodgers Blvd near the intersection of Riverbend Dr. on a report of a motor vehicle crash involving injuries. The caller stated he was stopped at the red traffic signal when a vehicle crashed into the rear of his vehicle. When Officer Puglla met with the other motorist, accused of crashing into the caller, he stated “I was drinking and fell asleep.” Officer Puglla and Sergeant Triano conducted a series of Field Sobriety tests on later identified as Guillermo Zaragoza-Castelan of Newark. The results of the field sobriety test confirmed Mr. Zaragoza Castelan was driving while intoxicated. Mr. Zaragoza-Castelan was arrested on scene for driving while intoxicated and later released from Police Headquarters with a court date.
