1. On August 1, 2024, at approximately 6:55 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and Joshua
Campoverde were conducting roving patrol on the 100 block of River Street when they observed
a man they knew as 24-year-old Tyrese Buckhanon of Hoboken, and knew he had an active
warrant for his arrest on defiant trespassing. He was placed under arrest. Police Officers Tyrone
Huggins, Nassir Wiley, and Daniella Simone arrived on the scene to assist. Buckhanon was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where it was discovered he also had a warrant out
of Harrison for shoplifting. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
2. On August 1, 2024, at approximately 12 p.m., Police Officer Nicklas Valerius responded to
Stan’s Sports Center, 528 Washington St., on reports of a dispute between an employee and man
on a bicycle. An on-scene investigation revealed the employee questioned the other individual
about paying for a shirt he had placed in the basket on his bicycle, and the man threatened to beat
him up. When the employee grabbed the shirt out of the basket, the actor cursed at him and rode
away from the store. A short time later, Police Officers Nicholas Protopapadakis and Jesse
Castelano saw someone who fit the description of the man, on the 50 block of Washington
Street. That man was stopped for questioning, and the victim confirmed it was in fact the actor,
who was identified as 48-year-old Shawn Gill of Hoboken. Gill was arrested and transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was charged with robbery and processed on a nonapprehension warrant for shoplifting. It was discovered he also had two failure to appear
warrants from Hoboken for simple assault and bias intimidation. He was transported to the
Hudson County Correctional Facility.
3. On August 1, 2024, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Police Officer Arturo Gonzalez responded to
ShopRite, 800 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting. Store security reported the actor, 54-yearold Monica Isabel Kelly of Hoboken, placed about $125.75 items in her cart and then tried to
leave without paying but was stopped by store security who called police. Kelly was transported
to the Hoboken Police Department and processed on charges of shoplifting. She was released on
a summons with a court date.
4. On August 2, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Police Officers Joshua Campoverde, Andrias
Bonilla, Anthony Ingraffia, David Chicara, and Nasir Willey attempted to stop a vehicle
observed operating at a high rate of speed on Washington Street. The driver, later identified as
34-year-old Daniel Rosa of Hoboken, ignored multiple orders to stop the vehicle, and continued
to speed onto Fifth Street and then Hudson Street. Rosa was known to be wanted by the New
York District Attorney’s Office on weapons offenses. Sgt. Adam Colon observed Rosa on the
100 block of Willow Avenue. He again disregarded orders to stop and sped away. Police
Officers Alexander Miller and Keven De La Cruz observed Rosa’s car turn onto First Street from
Grand Street where he parked and exited his car. Sgt. Colon arrived at the location and ordered
Rosa to stop and put his hands on a wall, which he did. Rosa was placed under arrest for the
outstanding warrant. Officers Campoverde, Ingraffia, De La Cruz, Miller, Willey, and Bonilla
arrived at that location. Rosa began to tense up his arms and body and started to sway to resist
arrest, resulting in officers falling and suffering minor injuries. A search incident to arrest located
a short straw-like metal rod containing white powdery residue, a piece of burnt aluminum foil
which is commonly used to ingest suspected CDS heroin, and a white container which contained
ten wax folds wrapped in small white rubber band, suspected to be CDS heroin. Rosa was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with aggravated assault on law
enforcement, resisting arrest, eluding, possession of CDS heroin, and possession of drug
paraphernalia. He was also processed on the warrant from New York. Rosa was ultimately
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
5. On August 2, 2024, at approximately 3:35 a.m., Police Officer Anthony Ingraffia was
conducting roving patrol on the 400 block of Washington Street when he saw an unhoused man
he knew as 75-year-old Richard Renta sitting on a bench. Renta was shirtless and wearing boxer
shorts below his buttocks, exposing them. Renta was issued a summons for lewdness and
released.
6. On August 2, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Police Officers Jessica Pizanie and Michael
Aviles responded to the 200 block of Jackson Street, on reports of a woman lying on the ground
with a white powdery substance in her hand. They located the woman, identified as 29-year-old
Shakeema Barnes of Union City, sitting on the ground in the vestibule of the building and saw
the substance spread on the floor and a glass cylindrical pipe, commonly used to ingest CDS, in
her hand. She was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. She was found to
have a warrant out of Paterson. Barnes was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and
possession of CDS. She was given summons and a court date and released into the custody of the
Paterson Police Department.
7. On August 3, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Police Officers Joshua Campoverde and
Andrias Bonilla were on routine patrol and observed two men engaged in an argument on the
100 block of Washington Street. As the officers approached, they saw the men, identified as 33-
year-old Zachary Meade of Roselle Park and 22-year-old Christoffer Poplawski of Clifton, run
towards each other and start a physical fight. Police Officers Shawn Sodora, Daniella Simone,
Keven De La Cruz, and Alexander Miller arrived on the scene. Meade and Poplawski were
separated and arrested. They were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, charged with
simple assault and disorderly conduct, and released on a summons.
8. On August 4, 2024, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Police Officers Joshua Campoverde and
Andrias Bonilla were on patrol of the 100 block of Washington Street when a red motorcycle hit
the front left bumper of their patrol car and kept traveling north at a high rate of speed. They
observed the motorcycle fail to stop at a red light on Washington and Second Streets. When the
operator tried to go around a truck stopped at another stop light, he ran into it, and the bike fell
on top of him, pinning his leg. Officers lifted the bike off the rider, identified as 28-year-old
Archit Brahmbhatt of Jersey City. Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived to assess
Brahmbhatt, who refused medical treatment. Sgt. James Barbro and Police Officers Teddy
Santiago and Christopher Soto arrived. A standardized field sobriety test was conducted, after
which Brahmbhatt was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated,
refusal to submit to a breath test, leaving the scene of an accident, not wearing a motorcycle
helmet as required, reckless driving, failure to observe a signal, and driving without a motorcycle
endorsement. As per John’s Law, Brahmbhatt was released into the custody of responsible party.
9. On August 4, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Police Officers Anthony Ingraffia and
Alexander Miller were conducting a detail check at the Brass Rail, 135 Washington St., when
they observed two men sleeping in the outdoor area of the restaurant. Both men were woken up
and informed they couldn’t be sleeping there. They were identified as 27-year-old Noel Cristobal
who has no known address, and 44-year-old Jose Joaquin of Hoboken. They were each issued a
summons for defiant trespassing, told they could not stay on the property, and left the scene.
10. On August 4, 2024, at approximately 11:25 a.m., Police Officer Jennifer Lee responded to
ShopRite, 900 Madsion St., on reports of a shoplifting with the actor, later identified as 51-yearold Orlando Sierra of Union City, in custody of store security staff. An on-scene investigation
revealed Sierra tried to leave the store after paying for only a portion of the items in his cart.
Store security stopped him with $106.83 worth of items that were not paid for. Sierra was placed
under arrest and charged with shoplifting. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters,
issued a summons, and released.
11. On August 5, 2024, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Sgt. Jason Falco and Police Officers Rose
Kanan and Jessica Pizanie responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting.
The actor, identified as 50-year-old Phillip Realpe of Hoboken, was in custody of store security
who told officers that Realpe placed approximately four packages of steak, worth approximately
$113, under his poncho and attempted to leave without paying. He was stopped by store security
who called the police. Realpe was placed under arrest for shoplifting and transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters for processing. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional
Facility.
12. On August 5, 2024, at approximately 7:35 p.m., Police Officers Harold Milne, Anish Bhisey,
Shelby Seickendick, and John Rodriguez responded to the area of Third and Bloomfield Streets
for multiple calls of a man acting erratically and believed to be under the influence. When they
arrived, officers saw a man who fit the description of the individual running and jump over the
hood of a parked car. He then began crawling on the street and was almost hit by oncoming
traffic. The man, later identified as 40-year-old Larry Townes of Hoboken, continued to act
erratically, and it was determined he could not care for himself. The Hoboken Volunteer
Ambulance Corps was called to assist. Sgt. Dennis Figueroa arrived on the scene. Townes
became combative when officers tried to place him in handcuffs for his, and their own, safety.
He became tense, refused to place his arms behind his back, and at one point head butted one of
the officers, causing an injury to the officer. When he was advised he was being placed under
arrest, he resisted, causing injury to another officer. Once in handcuffs, he began kicking officers
and, during transport to an area hospital, struck one of the officers in the thigh. Townes was
charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest. He
was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
13. On August 6, 2024, at approximately, 12:50 a.m., Police Officers Frank Losurdo and
Alexander Miller were on routine patrol on the 300 block of Marshall Drive when they observed
a man they knew as 50-year-old Kenneth Salazar of Union City, and knew he was not a resident
of the Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA). He was advised many times that he would be
arrested if seen again on HHA property. Salazar was placed under arrest. He was found to have
an active warrant out of Hudson County for burglary. He was also charged with defiant
trespassing and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office to be processed on
the warrant.
14. On August 7, 2024, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Sgt. Adam Colon was on roving patrol when
he saw a man running near the intersection of Second Street and Willow Avenue. Police Officers
David Chicara and Alexander Miller, who were on a detail check of Church Square Park, located
the man, who informed them someone had just stolen his bicycle. Police Officers Keven De La
Cruz and Geovanni Cruzado observed a male riding a bicycle who matched the description of the
suspect on the 50 block of Washington Street. That man, identified as 32-year-old Kamel Waters
of Brooklyn, was stopped and placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest found a small bag
containing clear crystal rocks suspected to be meth amphetamine and a glass cylindrical glass
pipe with burnt tips. Waters was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with
possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and theft. After being processed, Waters
was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
15. On August 7, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Police Officers Harry Montalvo and Anish
Bhisey responded to 80 River St., on reports of a man threatening employees with a knife. Sgt.
Francis McCourt and Police Officers Domenick Allegretta, Matthew Bonanno, and Anthony
Rutkowski also responded to the scene. They saw the actor, who they knew was 32-year-old
Sangmin Kim of Fort Lee, sitting on the floor. He was asked to stand up and was placed in
handcuffs. An on-scene investigation revealed that an employee of one of the businesses in the
building saw Kim on the top floor of the building, and when he asked why Kim was there, Kim
waved a knife at the employee. The employee was able to protect himself, and disarm Kim of
two knives, before calling the police who took possession of the knives and placed Kim under
arrest. A search incident to arrest located four lock picks. He was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters where it was learned he had a warrant out of Hoboken for possession of burglar
tools and trespassing. He was further charged with burglary, possession of a weapon for an
unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated assault, and possession of
burglary tools. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
