Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces that Alberto Sanabria, age 38, from Paterson, New Jersey has been indicted on multiple acts of domestic violence. Alberto Sanabria is a member of the Paterson Police Department.

A Passaic County Grand Jury has returned Indictment No. 24-07-00502-I, charging Alberto Sanabria with multiple acts of domestic violence that took place in the City of Paterson on December 23, 2023. Mr. Sanabria was indicted on one count of third-degree Terroristic Threats; one count of fourth-degree Cyber Harassment; and one count of fourth-degree Stalking.

The sentencing exposure on third-degree Terroristic Threats is 3 to 5 years New Jersey State Prison; on fourth-degree Cyber Harassment it is 18 months New Jersey State Prison; and on fourth-degree Stalking it is 18 months New Jersey State Prison.

Alberto Sanabria was released on a Summons Complaint. Mr. Sanabria will appear on August 19, 2024, before the Honorable Barbara Buono Stanton, J.S.C. for arraignment.

A criminal indictment is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
