Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Spend time at the Nature Center's Butterfly House this Saturday or Sunday. Families and adults can enjoy this opportunity to feed butterflies and spend time with the winged jewels. Then, adults and families with children ages 4 and up can join with Environmental Educators to explore the Fairy Trail and build fairy houses of your very own. Natural construction materials, and a recycled milk carton base will be provided. Sign up for all these and more at Tenaflynaturecenter.org

This coming Tuesday evening, July 30, the Summer Concerts at Huyler Park continue at 7:00 PM with Tenafly’s first ever Salsa Under the Stars! Featuring a dance class to kick off the night with Sasha Nagorney followed by a music performance with the David Cedeño Orchestra.

Kidchella Carnival is Back at the JCC on Wednesday, July 31. Join in for an unforgettable summer evening on the camp field! Bring your family and friends to enjoy a night filled with fun and excitement. For details visit: https://www.jccotp.org/event/kidchella/

Tenafly School Referendum: Two upcoming events will give the community the chance to learn and ask questions about the September 17 school referendum. On Monday, August 5 at 7 pm a Virtual Forum will be held and recorded; a link will be available at tenaflyschools.org/vote. Then, Monday, September 9 at 7:00 pm an in-person presentation will be held at the Middle School auditorium (10 Sunset Lane) with an optional tour of the school and the Geissinger Athletic Complex.

Monday, August 5, at Montammy Golf Club is Play Fore!, the Kids Golf and Tennis Classic. This important fundraiser includes a fun day of Men’s and Women’s Golf, Tennis, Pickleball, and Mahjong or Canasta and helps support programming and services for children at the JCC. Save the date: Saturday, August 24 - The 4th annual Rummage Sale Fundraiser and Bake Sale at the Senior Center. 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Something for everyone! This is an event you do not want to miss! The Senior Center is looking for volunteers for this event. Contact Michele Hausch at the Senior Center for details.

The Tenafly students Interact Club is creating a video for Grandparents Day, September 8. The purpose of the video is to encourage people to spend time with Grandparents and Senior family members while engaged in and recording short conversations or activities. Your video, or audio clip with a photo, should be limited to 30-45 second clips. Everyone is welcome to make a submission. All the completed videos and audio clips will be posted on the Interact Club YouTube Channel. Clips can be submitted to Winsten Lamb at email: 25wlam@tenafly.k12.nj.us The video will premiere on September 9.
